In January 2025, I visited the Mclean Square branch to deposit a check. During my visit, the staff advised me to open a new savings account, assuring me that I would receive a higher interest rate than my existing Citi savings account, which at the time was at 4%. Based on their recommendation and assurance, I proceeded with opening the new account. However, instead of the 4.3% interest rate I was promised, the new account has been earning only 0.09%, resulting in a significant financial loss over the past two months.
I have since requested compensation for the interest I lost due to this error, but despite acknowledging the mistake, Citi has only offered an apology rather than a fair resolution. As a longstanding and loyal Citi customer, I am extremely disappointed by how this matter has been handled.

Great customer service at this branch! I worked with Mr. Mohammed Khalid and he did a great job helping me with wire services! If you want to work with a bank in Northern Virginia with great customer service I highly recommend Mr. Khalid and this Citibank branch.

We have banked at the McLean branch for about 5 years. The tellers and the branch manager have been invariably helpful, attentive and cordial. They remember us. It has the feel of a hometown bank but with global reach. We travel frequently to London and they are helpful in setting up appropriate support services. I cannot understand the negative comment about laziness or indifference based on my invariably good experience.

This bank only had one teller on a Friday afternoon at around 4:30. The rest of the staff was sitting around on desks on their cell phone not caring in the world. Enough said.
