What a bait and switch! I purchased a Groupon and called to book an appointment. They said that they no longer take Groupon but would honor the price. I got there and verbally confirmed the situation. They said that they could only charge me... DOUBLE.....what?! I explained that when I confirmed on the phone they checked with the owner who said they would honor the Groupon price but when I arrived they basically said they had changed their minds. Since I went out of my way for the appointment they wasted a lot of my time with their bait and switch. I will gladly pay more for a better, cleaner more trustworthy salon. Especially because the service I asked for would require regular full price touch ups. These people are a disgrace and just let a lot of money walk out the door with their tricky tactics.

I don't recommend this place for mani/pedi at all. There is only one chair for the service, and tools don't look clean. It doesn't look sanitary. Receptionist mixed up with appointments, I noticed one person arrived after me and had to reschedule her appointment.

Found this place on Groupon, and you really get what you pay for. Hilda was sweet, but also bullied me about how they make no money from Groupon so i need to like her page and tip her and allow her to take photos of me. The whole thing was awkward. On top of that, she completely screwed my layers and was awful with mens haircuts (my boyfriend) and my undercut. She also BURNED me, and i now have a nice scabbed-scar on my neck from the hair dryer after I told her to stop because it was too hot. The prices are good but the place is run down, the equipment is from the 80s, and staff don't know what they are doing. I really try to support local business, but this place is better off just closing down.

i wouldn't even give this place a one star but had to in order to post. I had a japanese treatment done, and seemed fine at the time, after washing my hair it wasn't done right so i came back and Hilda redid my hair. ok after washing it. about two months later, after going to get an updo for a wedding, the hair dresser noticed i had a lot of breakage from the treatment not being done right. She told me that it most probably wasn't washed out completely. I now have a spot in the back of my head thats you can see breakage as well as the back of my neck, cant tie my hair back because it looks like i got a trim there. My cousin is having similar issues. I don't recommend this place. Hilda will tell each of the clients that they need the keratin treatment in addition to the japanese, She also talks bad about the owner.

Hilda did an AMAZING job on my hair! I got the Japanese straightening treatment done and it took over 8 hours. She saw other clients in the meantime, and did a great job at multitasking. We had to do a keratin treatment, which she suspected my hair would need in the beginning, and told me about from the start. Since I have long hair and needed extra formula, she didn't charge me a crazy amount for it like other places have in the past. I'm definitely coming back and I would recommend booking your appointment with Hilda.

Place is a little run down. Had a groupon for mani-pedi and they only had one person doing it. She seemed to be overworked too. The employees and owner don't seem to have a good relationship with each other or maybe had language barrier. The lady who did my nails was very very sweet though. Service was meeehh. Go get your nails done somewhere else. Not even worth the groupon

Like many things in life, MHF is a yin/yang grab bag of great and not-so-great. Pros: -MHF is a five-ten minute ride from my office in Tyson's and I can get in and out during lunch. I normally see Hilda, who is fantastic. She does a great job on cut and color, is very pleasant, and can always get me in and out in time - without feeling rushed. -The prices are lower than the many high-end studios in the area - likely due to the very dated, somewhat dingy interior. They would definitely benefit by even some small-scale interior upgrades. A new coat of paint and some updated stations would go a long way to improve the aesthetic here. -This week I had a small window of time on a day that Hilda was not available so I was seen by Julie, who I understand is new. She was fantastic and very stylish; I had a cut, blow-out, and straightening that looked twice the price of $33, plus tip. -There was a Groupon, but they will honor the price without you actually buying the Groupon. Cons: The last time this place saw an interior refresh, Richard Nixon was president. You won't feel like you are stepping into some posh salon, but then again - you won't be paying for the aesthetics either. In my experiences there, the products and tools have always been current and hygienic. -The ladies are a mix of ethnic heritages and some have thick accents but I've never actually had any real communication challenges. Overall, I'm a Warren Buffet value investor - I look for what's undervalued and do not pay for frills I don't need (paint and fancy decor do not add value to my hair services). MHF meets that standard; I get great results at a discount price, conveniently. That meets my measure of success! Make sure to ask for Hilda or Julie.

Terrible. I had a Groupon for a mani pedi and the sour-natured manicurist was calling me a half hour before my scheduled appointment accusing me of 'forgetting' it, then demanded to know when i was going to arrive. When i arrived BEFORE my appointment time she bellered out the same thing really loud in front if others, i reminded her i was actually EARLY. I probably have a bigger selection if nail polish at home! She was bossy about my color selection because their polish us old and she admitted it chips...but it took forever to dry because it is OLD product. It chipped already. No surprise since there was no top coat. I had to listen to the manicurist complain and make faces about other customers; the gossip was way too much! Every time I tried to relax she'd shout at me "Are you sleeping?!" OMG stay away from this nightmare.

I purchased a groupon for a Keratin treatment, and I cannot stress enough that you get what you pay for.
