“I would not call this an antique store whatsoever. I was disappointed in that regard. It was a lot of basic white b***h furniture and decorations. The place is HUGE and there are a TON of items to look at. I would go back for furniture for sure because a lot of it was pretty furniture for a decent price. However, I feel like they should advertise as an antique store because I don't feel that it is.”
“Red Barn Antiques is full of treasures! Plan to spend much time perusing collectibles, art, and antiques! The General Store itself dates back to the mid-1800’s. Tim has a lovely inventory of finished furniture and you are sure to find a great take-home piece. He also restores and finishes furniture. He is very talented and works with you for the exact outcome you’re looking for. If you are really lucky when you stop by, Tim and his girlfriend LouAnn may introduce you to some of the lovable rescue dogs. They both have a heart of gold and have taken on some very challenging pets. They are great people who love Hanover and love to share the history of Borkey Store! You must stop in!”
“I’ve been to antique stores all over the country and this is by far one of my favorites. As a huge lover of all things paper ephemera, this is truly the best there is. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to browse. One can easily spend several hours looking at the many treasures.
I struck up a few lovely conversations with several of the staff, including Mimi R. She is so lovely and knowledgeable about postcards and is so happy to help you find what you’re looking for. I reached out to her recently and she put together a custom order of postcards for me. I am so appreciative of this level of customer service and support.”
