Nice enough store. Just never know what you will find.

The lady at the counter spent 10 minutes telling the customer ahead of me everything she knew about salt lamps while a line of 4-5 people formed. Do not go to this goodwill if you're under any sort of time constraints.

The staff is fantastic and incredibly hardworking, especially considering the lack of air conditioning in the store. It’s incredibly hot, and both the employees and customers are suffering. Please install fans to help with the heat.

Update: this place has gone downhill! Very little inventory, except clothing. They closed the Employment Center. I was so disappointed!
Nice place, I have been there before. Make sure that you know their hours before you go in, because they stopped us at the door and told us they were closing in 5 minutes. We didn't have a chance to shop that night. I've worked in Retail, so I understand, but I would never have stopped a customer at the door to tell them that they only had 5 minutes to shop. I always stayed until the last customer left.

This is my favorite goodwill in the area - there are a lot of nice ones but this one is organized very well and spaced out well - good lighting and always find good items!

Not as good as they used to be. Mostly over priced junk that most people would send to the dump. They often price items with a higher price than it cost new at retail store ( some still have original store price on them, and Goodwill is higher ). Employees don't seem to care when you point it out. There are many better thrift stores in Richmond.
In regards to their response to my initial review:
I understand the increased cost of doing business. But to sell used and DONATED items at a higher price than they cost new at retail, gives zero incentive to attract/retain customers. They could buy new, unused items cheaper at retail stores.

This location employs the absolute rudest cashier I have ever met, anywhere. I believe her name is Rita. I found a couple pieces that needed special cleaning and mending (which I can do, but it takes time, effort, and supplies), and asked if there's any discount for items with stains and holes. She then asked which items so she could throw them away instead of selling them to me, even at full price. She then proceeded to go over my items with a fine tooth comb, trying to find a reason to not sell me anything. It was truly bizarre and the woman was giving me the worst attitude. Goodwill would rather add to landfills then sell a damaged but fixable item for a discount. It was an older black woman, for reference if anyone ever reads this. Receipt attached for date and time.

I used to love going to goodwill, it was a staple growing up. Now it's just sad and disappointing, the items are not good quality but the prices are still going up. They also don't take baby items that as a mom I would love to get second hand rather than retail. Shopping here has become unfulfilling and a waste of time; I give up.

Always busy, if you're going be prepared for a long line. But, there are gems worth going for. And the store is mostly clean and workers are friendly.

Expensive and Extremely GREEDY!!!
Prices are higher than ever, and they will no longer give a stamp after a $20 purchase and after July 31 they will no longer honor the 4 stamp cards for 20% discount. They forget they get everything for free and still have the audacity to ask if you want to donate.

Your prices are so darn high. That’s why there are hardly any shoppers. Profit over people, shame on you!

This is the best Goodwill store in Richmond area. Kudos to the manager for ensuring that it is well organized, clean, and so enjoyable to shop. Everything is sorted by color, which is pleasing to the eye. There are so many odd things of unexpected kind and purpose - so much fun to browse. Pricing is very reasonable, I never had the thought in my mind that something is priced ridiculously high, like it happens elsewhere. My compliments to store staff and managers.

they really have the nerve to charge $7.99 for a used 3oz candle with no wick ? ridiculous prices. they have broken plates priced at 3.99 and dollar tree decor for $4.99 with the original price tag that says dollar tree on it still. Goodwill doesn't want to help the needy or the homeless, if you want a real thrift store that actually cares and isn't cooperation go to Reginesis Thrift
