I coached SoccerShots at The Learning Connection in Mechanicsville and the entire staff is incredible. They all made me feel so welcomed and taken care of — it’s obvious that the employees truly care about the kids there. They handle the kids, staff, parents, (and myself) with the utmost respect and love. I’m not a parent but I’d feel very safe if my kids were enrolled at this preschool. Thank you for everything TLC!

There has been a lot of turnover at The Learning Center in Mechanicsville. Definitely not enough Teachers for amount of children in the classrooms. When you have 1 Teacher to about 20 kids there is an issue. One that needs to be addressed. We were Happy with ways things were when starting out but definitely no longer a good fit for our child’s development.

We have been at TLC for over 5 years. This place has become our second home and the teachers/admins are our second family. They have always treated our kids like one of their own. It has been amazing watching them grow and develop as they move through each classroom. Every time my child has to move up to the next class I say, "I am going to miss their current teachers so much, how are the next ones going to compare?" and every time I fall in love with their "new" teachers.We were fortunate to have TLC during COVID. The admin and staff did everything to keep our kids safe while staying open. I know it was not an easy time, but every day I dropped off my kids I was greeted by smiling faces. The admin and teachers are always in contact with us and keep us up to date with our kid's growth and development. They really value that growth and it shows. When my son required additional services for some physical needs, they gladly welcomed his therapist into the center to work with him.My kids love going to TLC, and that is the most important thing to me. Each day they look forward to seeing their teachers and doing a variety of activities. We feel so fortunate our kids have found a place to grow and learn. I highly recommend TLC.

My son started at TLC around his second birthday. He at the time had a very small vocabulary and not much interaction with other children. Within a few weeks, my son was thriving socially and coming home with a much stronger vocabulary. The teachers have always been amazing and loving to my son. They really put in effort to make sure the environment is focused on teaching, manners and behaved free play. The lesson plans are followed through with just enough time for indoor and outdoor play. This daycare ( I call it school because of its high focus of learning) would be a perfect fit for a parent wanting best for their children, educationally and socially. As much as I want my child to be smart, I also want him to be a well rounded- good person and the learning connection has the same goal in mind for each child. If your looking for a facility and unsure, make an appointment with the leadership at TLC and i am hopeful you will leave with your child enrolled. My son looks forward to going and they do a great job on making learning fun.GREAT staff, awesome meals, perfect place to leave and be comfortable knowing your child is in good hands

the stories I have heard from past employees people please make sure you are talking to your children if you notice changes in their eating sleeping or even mood swings pay attention these are warning signs even an employee that works there to this day they need to open an investigation

We love TLC. We have trusted our son there since he was 4 months old. The teachers are kind, loving, and enjoy what they do. I love that when I come to pick up my son, his teachers tell me all about his day, the front desk staff can tell me specific things that happened that day, and they are always available to talk about any questions you may have. I truly believe they love our kids. We looked at just about every child care center and the area and TLC has been a wonderful choice for our family!

We have been at TLC for the past 8 years. The teachers and staff are fabulous! My boys love going each day. I always feel they are safe and cared for while I am at work. We have recommended TLC to family and friends and they have been satisfied as well.

Our family loves TLC! We've been using The Learning Connection for our daycare and preschool needs for more than four years and the teachers have really been a part of helping our two children grow. I can still remember Ms. Sylvia helping me figure out the new parent things, like when to start practicing with sippy cups, or when they might be ready to transition to one nap. The teachers and administrators are very nurturing and caring and it is completely evident that they love our kids. When we see teachers around town, they always have a hug and kind word. As children grow, the classes become more structured, preparing your child to be ready for Kindergarten. There is a lot of instruction time and play time, and the activities that are provided and offered at TLC are great. Plus, Marcie, Mandy, and Megan are always there to help when we have questions and to encourage our kids and make them feel special. We are so glad we chose TLC for our family!

TLC has been a great place for daycare. We started out there with my daughter only 1 day a week which was all I needed to accommodate my work schedule. Then I had my son and luckily they had a spot for him in the infant room for one day a week. As my work schedule changed and I needed daycare for 3 days a week TLC was very accommodating and patient as we figured out the change in our schedule. As a family we actually drive out of our way to place our kids at this facility. When my work schedule changed and they needed to be watch more days a week we looked at other daycare options that were more convenient to where we lived. But NOT ALL DAYCARE'S ARE THE SAME OR EQUAL. We have been very pleased with TLC and because of that we continued to keep our children there even though we had to drive out of our way. When it comes to your children you want to trust the staff and we do at TLC. My husband will be transitioning his work schedule to be able to watch our kids so even though we are leaving the TLC family we will miss having our children there. They were loved and well cared for at TLC. I would highly recommend this daycare to any parents who are looking for a safe place for their children. You are always greeted when you come to get your kids and the staff are very friendly. I can't say enough positive things about this place!!!!!

I love that my daughter loves spending her days here. Since 10 weeks old we've entrusted her care with TLC and they've done better than imagined. She's learning so much that I'm struggling to keep up with her new skills and language development. I'm constantly amazed. Makes life easier on working parents. Thanks TLC!!!

My
son has been going there for over three years now. He is starting Kindergarten this year. I believe their preschool program is excellent, the activities are great, (I love the juggler the best myself)! THe staff have been nothing just great, I'm proud to have all of them on my team helping me raise my son.
