Really enjoyed my experience here! Everyone is friendly and approachable. Checking in and out was also super easy and I like that I can easily schedule an appointment online if I need to!

Wrong name on this app., I am Sylvia Cook. I didn’t enjoy my visit because the wait time was too long then after my x-ray I was told to sit and wait in another room. Aspen Dental is very efficient, and speedy at collecting co-pays before service is even rendered but then they drag the visit out. They ought to be more concerned in taking care of the patients first and then collecting payment.

I met with Dr. Andrea Oakes, the owner of Aspen Dental Midlothian. Stay far, far away from her! This woman marched into the waiting room without even looking at me, told me to open my mouth and, and with no warning or care, jabbed the anesthetic needle into my gums. I've had this procedure multiple times and never had a dentist behave so unprofessionally. I lifted my hand, as I was told by past dentists to do so as a form of communication, and she literally barked at me to not touch her, as if I were a child. (God forbid she has any children, as I can't imagine how she would treat them). Mind you, this all happened in less than 15 seconds of her entering the room. No introductory information, no common cordialities, no explaining the procedure.Nothing.If she was acting with that much negligence that soon, I didn't want her drilling into my tooth! As soon as she removed the needle, I stood up, grabbed my bag and left, of which she seemed pleased. Honestly, I think other people would have not been so kind in that situation, but most people must allow it if she feels that she can get away with that behavior. She acted as if she was running a bet to see how quickly she could do a procedure, had some sort of morbid curiosity to see how much disrespect a patient would take, or just wanted to get home and watch TV. Oakes is out of her depth and should find another job that doesn't deal with other people - especially if sharp objects and tools are involved (!)

It was a great experience. Haven't gone to dentist in awhile and there was no judgement. The checkup was just what I needed. They gave me a good plan. Staff is friendly and informative. I highly recommend.

I had been so afraid of seeing a Dentist since about age 7 because of my intense memories of the poking with sharp tools, stinging numbing injections, the sound of the drill's speeds, the smell of tooth being ground away...so even though my insurance covers basic preventative visits, I have not seen a dentist in 5 years. A molar that had been broken for many years began throbbing painfully for a week. I could not find an emergency appointment with any dentist in my network. Fortunately, I noticed in my online search that Aspen Dental accepts walk-in patients at some locations, and I could make an appointment at that moment. I was able to be seen the next morning! I wasn't sure what to expect, but my experience with Dr. Oates & her staff was just fantastic! Each person on her team was genuinely nice to me, they listened to my worries & concerns & treated me with care making me feel like I had joined a family! My infected tooth was extracted gently, with Dr. Oakes explained what she was doing, asking how I was doing, through the entire experience. I was so pleased with everyone & felt comfortable enough to make a cleaning appointment the next week & having 2 cavities taken care of 2 days after that! Believe me, this was a major accomplishment for Dr. Oakes & her staff to help me overcome a fear that I had for so long. I would recommend them to children, teens & adults of any age for professional care of your dental needs! I could not be more thankful for Aspen Dental!!

I’ve been going to aspen for about a year now and they’re absolutely incredible! Dr Oakes and her staff are the sweetest and most welcoming people I’ve met! I’ve been to multiple dentist in the past but this is by far my favorite, and I’ll continue to go here! I recommend Aspen dental for their flexibility and hours and their staff as well!

As a patient, when I call Aspen Dental in Midlothian, Va., the phone goes to voice mail and someone usually calls back two to three days later. My dentures broke FOUR, yes four times. It supposedly is because of my "bite" and, as the dentist stated, "I will have to live with it."! Spent close to $7,000 for a negative experience. I'll try another AD office and hope for professional results. JG

Waited over a month for a new patient appointment on a Friday, they called me less then 24 hours before my appointment to cancel due to them being low on staff. I can understand this happens; however I can't understand why they waited till the day before to cancel. It's unprofessional.

If you require oral surgery, this facility may not be optimal. The lack of effective communication between the office manager and the visiting oral surgeon has been evident. A recent instance involved my son's inability to return for stitch removal in two weeks, as he was relocating to his college dormitory. We had taken precautions to ensure that the stitches would dissolve on their own. However, the oral surgeon who performed the procedure was unaware of these arrangements and advised us to return after a two-week period. This experience has raised concerns regarding the professionalism of the establishment.

So far my experience with Aspen has been great. I don't like the dentist. It's been over 10 yrs. But Dr. Oakes and staff have been fantastic and she pulled my tooth without any problems or pain. 15 mins it was out!! Thank You. Highly recommend. Angileena K.

As someone else stated, worst dental experience I've ever had. The x-ray tech was either new or didn't care at all about their job. I went in to get one tooth pulled and they tried to sell me on a bunch of root canals and caps and bridges, and they knew I didn't have insurance. The total estimate was over $15k.I was in some pretty bad pain and all they gave me was some antibiotics. I wasn't looking for any hardcore opioids, but with the pain I had (and they could see it), I wasn't even offered any pain meds. Plus, they scheduled my extraction for a month out. So I had to deal with near excruciating pain for a month with no relief. I told them I was eating Advil and Tylenol like candy and it barely touched the pain. Plus, I used so much oragel that it completely quit working. Whatever...I had to get 2 teeth pulled, and I have a phobia about choking, so I asked to be put under. I go in for my appointment, already nervous and still in pain. After waiting for 45 minutes, they called me back to talk to me. They told me their anesthesia machine was broken, so I either had to be awake or they could reschedule in 3 weeks. It was a tough decision, but I couldn't take the pain any longer so I said to just get it over with. The main dentist who did the extractions was getting frustrated when one of the teeth wasn't coming out, which freaked me out even more. The dude was leaned over me, sweating and visibly irritated, yelling at the nurse. Very unprofessional. His nurse assistant on the other hand, was very nice and tried her best to keep me calm. She's the only person there that I'd give a good rating to.All around terrible experience, gave me no meds to take with me (again, I wasn't drug seeking, but offer me something) and told me to take Advil. No follow up to check on me (every dentist I've had has always called to check on me after a major procedure). And just those 2 teeth cost over $1200 to get removed. I guess that's what I get for going to a chain dentist. Never again. Support your local dentist. This was in May of 2022, just in case they have new staff. My advice, don't risk it if you need a major procedure done. Aspen is the McDonald's of dental offices.

Worst dental office I’ve ever experienced would recommend not to come to aspen very unprofessional, I made an appointment for aspen on the phone explaining my whole situation of a cracked tooth and urgency at 5pm they offered to see me the next day at 2pm I have to work during these hours and took off early to go to this appointment , upon arriving they said that they cancelled my appointment because I didn’t answer the phone call while I was at work , I arrived 30 minutes early and they told me they could not see me and that the next closest appointment was 2 weeks away… I have a cracked tooth to the nerve causing extreme headaches and they turned me away without a care… I made an appointment and 24 hours didn’t even go by before they cancelled it .. very unprofessional and literally unreal how bad that customer service was , I am still just mind boggled on this whole situation for them to cancel my appointment and try to schedule me 2 weeks away when I was suppose to be seen that day and I was thirty minutes early it’s literally unreal please do not go to aspen …. I went to vcu dental and they were very helpful I would recommend their ..

Worst experience at a dental office ever! I went here because it was the earliest appointment I could get for a broken tooth. After three appointments I realized I was overpaying big time. They over charge and have the worst customer service I have ever experienced . I went in 30 mins early per their request and still was not seen on time . (This was the 3rd appointment and my tooth was still not fixed.) They added a $135 tooth brush without telling me to my bill. I was so frustrated I ended up leaving this last appointment . Even with great dental insurance the cost was outrageous . Would not recommend to anyone .after posting a review I am no longer aloud to say anything else unless I put it on my existing review. After the office posted saying I could come back for care ? which I would never . ( This part of my review is weeks later ) . i was sent a letter saying they would no longer allow me to come there for work . What a joke . I had already made it very clean I would not be back after suspicions of insurance fraud and horrible care. Worst place to go . I would highly suggest going somewhere different . I was charged for multiple things and over paid for the few services I received . Most dental offices who have a patient with a broken tooth would cover it because they know the nerve damaged that can be caused from leaving it open . Not Aspen Dental . They look at it as an opportunity to make more money . They think screw the nerve I can make more money on a root canal . Worst service and worst dental care I have ever received . What a joke . This company has plenty of reviews that go along with exactly what I am saying. Avoid at all cost !
