This place was great at one time. Unfortunately it has become more about the money. They aren’t forthcoming with their prices. They tack on charges at the end. I had a small quaker parrot that needed nails trimmed, I was quoted $37 for it. That’s still alot for a very minor trim. Maybe 5 min at most. When I went to check out, $12 was added for the vet tech that had to hold him. So $49 dollars altogether.
They barely trimmed his nails. Looks the same!! What a scam!! Places like this pray on the love of your pet for profit.

There are no words to express our thanks to Dr Rice for emergently seeing our dear old beloved dog on a Friday afternoon leading into a holiday weekend. She was thorough and compassionate and correctly diagnosed what we knew to be a dreaded, but true diagnosis. We have transferred our Molly's care to this practice! Our vet of 30 years could not be bothered to help us!! Dr Rice has a top notch staff and state of the art practice.

Dr. April Rice is PHENOMENAL!!! And, the entire staff is so accommodating! Plus, they have the RHDV2 Vaccine available. I LOVE this place!!!

Dr. Rice is an amazing vet who truly cares about all animals . Midlothian is so lucky to have her . She's has cared for several of my babies with compassion and top care and we love her. Sarah Leahy is the best vet tech ever , she truly cares about the my fur babies .

Dr Rice has been there for not only my puppy but also for me as a overprotective and over worrier self as a first time puppy owner. She is not only incredibly knowledgeable but she is just so nice. I wouldn’t take my pup anywhere else!

So nice, so competent, so nice! We brought our Quaker parrot to Dr. Rice. Somehow.. we were able to get her first appointment last minute on a Saturday morning. We had never been there before. Tweedy had a very bad eye issue, and I figured it was just a matter of time before he died. With CoVid, Dr. Rice personally came out to the car and with a giant smile, took Tweedy into the practice. 20 minutes later, she returned my bird to me with medication and instructions. 2 weeks later, his eye is nearly perfect, and we hope that we won't have to bring him back up for the final 'scraping' that she said could be necessary.Thanks so much Dr. Rice!Follow up: Tweedy's eye looks perfect now. Amazing. We could have lost this bird if not for Dr. Rice. Over the last 20 years, we have lost 2 birds. Perhaps it was our ignorance, but there was a real lack of smart avian veterinary in the area. What a treat to have doctor Rice for bird owners. Perhaps Buster and Herbie would still be alive. I can't say enough to praise her. Give her your business, and extend your time with your pets!
