I absolutely love the Staff here. You can tell they love and care about all of the children and they give me a lot of reassurance that my child will be safe and have a good learning experience.

After having a bad experience with another local daycare, Kiddie Academy has been a breath of fresh air. Teacher Shannen and Teacher Cal have been a blessing to have as educator for our daughter (who is currently 4 yrs old). You can tell they both care about the children in their class!

We loved this place for the first year we were with them... It was clean, teachers (seemed) nice, they offered cameras in the classroom, which we were excited about. Leaving your child in the care of strangers can be scary; we welcomed the opportunity to build trust in the teachers by viewing their interactions with the kids. Our child was in the 2s room. During nap time one day, in November 2020, my husband & I had been randomly viewing the camera for several minutes to check in on our child. We witnessed our child laying on the cot, moving around, trying to keep himself awake. His teacher, Vivian, was visibly frustrated by his interruptions, as it appeared she was trying to clean the room. We then watched Vivian go over to our son & angrily SNATCH his blanket, that WE provided for naps, from his hands, and THROW IT IN THE UTILITY/BROOM CLOSET & shut the door. Our child was obviously upset by this & my husband IMMEDIATELY called Mrs Patel, the Director/Owner, to inquire why the teacher would do that & under what circumstance that be acceptable. Mrs Patel said she would go & talk with the teacher.I immediately went to get my son, after what we witnessed on camera & to speak with management in person. Mrs Patel was completely unapologetic for the actions of her teacher & advised me that snatching a blanket from a 2 year old child & throwing it in the utility closet was a "distractionary technique" they use to "calm the child down". WHAT!! How is responding aggressively to and/or bullying a 2 year old child going to help the child to settle down to sleep? Not only were the teacher's actions wildly inappropriate, but the Director/Owner's handling of the issue was so reckless & egregious, that my son did not return to that school for another minute after that incident. My husband returned the next morning to collect all our belongings & to discuss the matter with Mrs Patel again - and again, she was unbelievably unapologetic, repeating it was a "distractionary technique" the teacher used. While we completely understand getting frustrated with young children, or even a teacher having a bad day, because we are all human - snatching a child's blanket from them during nap & throwing it in a utility closet is an inappropriate response and not a "distraction technique" that we want used on our child. I'd like to add that this "technique" was not referenced as a method of correcting a child's behavior in the welcome packet - I wonder why that might be?After seeing that the Mrs Patel, incredibly, did not see an issue with this action by her teacher, we lost all trust in their ability to care for our child. It left us wondering what else had occurred that we didn't personally witness or know about, or in what ways situations/actions could escalate in the future. It was clear that Mrs Patel would not openly accept responsibility for this, even though the footage was recorded (perhaps due to legal/liability reasons?) & we couldn't bring ourselves to leave our child in the care of staff that we could no longer trust. We were extremely disappointed, as this was our first negative experience here & we truly loved the center.Unfortunately, the teacher's action & the Director's mishandling of the incident was waaaaay too much to overcome. The Director never attempted to make it right or even try to assure us she would handle it/address her staff. We were SO astounded by what happened & the Director's lack of response to us, that there was NO way we would leave our child there anymore.I wanted to share our experience as a cautionary tale for those who may be considering this location, as it is highly rated & truly seems great. You may also be interested in reviewing this center's history on the Virginia Dept Of Social Services website - on that note, probably a good idea to review any center you are considering for your child's care. Hopefully you never have an issue h

Highly recommend this center. The staff is very friendly and they have clear communication, schedules, and expectations. The facility is top notch with playgrounds in the back. Our child has developed more quickly here compared to our previous center. Thanks to the staff for all you do to take care of our children and help them learn/develop.

Kiddie Academy (KAM) has been wonderful. I kept my toddler home through COVID-19 and Kiddie Academy was his first experience of daycare and being around so many people and kids. While it took him time to adjust the teachers and staff at KAM were so wonderful and patient with him, always showing such care and compassionate re-direction when needed. We also went through potty training here and they have been really communicative and patient as we had to figure out what works at home might not work at school. They found what did work and were just incredibly patient, affirming and encouraging to him (big thanks to Ms. Ivelisse!!)While he cried when he first started, now he looks forward to going everyday and often talks about his teachers like Ms. Deja, Ms. Ivelisse, and now Ms. Tilsa when he is at home. As a first time parent and coming off of COVID I don’t think we could have asked for anything better! They also do a great job connecting with local sports for things like soccer, T-ball, and basketball, which our little one loves. It definitely helps that they have cameras that we can check in at any time and the director and owner are very involved and even know our son by name. They are great communicators, quick responders to emails and just good people! We are grateful and We highly recommend KAM!! Thank you all!

We’ve had a very positive experience with Kiddie Academy. The staff is extremely communicative. They have a well structured day with some independent play time. They get outside every day the weather permits and offer many extra curricular activities. My child has brought home a vast amount of art projects and communicates various new things she’s learning. She is also happy to go to school and shows comfort around her teachers. Highly recommend

I am so happy to have chosen Kiddie Academy for my 3 year old. We love the staff and her teacher. It’s always a pleasant greeting when entering the building, the facility is always clean and my daughter is learning so well in her classroom. Another huge factor is the watch me grow app. That is by far a great advantage this daycare provides versus other daycares in the area. It has definitely been peaceful to be able to leave my daughter in the care of such a wonderful school. I have no worries.

The staff at Kiddie Academy Midlothian are truly God sent. Every employee greets the children by name even those not in their class. It appears that each staff enjoys their job; evident by the smiles and enthusiasm displayed by all. The staff are professional and always willing to help and answer all questions - and I ask many! Never once have I felt that my children were any less than their top priority. Safety and adaptability have been witnessed daily. I could not say enough great things about our experience with Kiddie Academy!
