My daughter has been coming here for a year and absolutely loves it. All the teachers are so nice! Even the teachers in other classes know my daughter’s name and greet her (and us) with excitement when we walk through the door. You can tell everyone truly cares about all the kids, regardless of if they’re assigned to their class or not.

They have been wonderful and so accommodating with my autistic son. The director Lori is an absolute angel always bending backwards to make sure my baby is taken care of. I cannot thank the entire staff enough for all they do!

7/31/25 We have been a part of the Skipwith family for more than a few years now. We found Skipwith when the Pre-K Montessori program seemed to be what our youngest needed the most and have returned for the summer program ever since we started Elementary school. Our child will turn down a day at home so that she can go see her friends and teachers at Skipwith!🤯….they are always doing something fun. Lori and staff are phenomenal with a top notch facility!

I absolutely love this daycare! Both of my younger kids attend, and I’ve had such a wonderful experience from day one. The staff is caring, attentive, and truly dedicated to creating a safe, nurturing environment. My children are excited to go each day, and I’ve noticed so much growth in their learning, social skills, and confidence.
The communication with parents is excellent, and I always feel informed and involved. It’s such a relief knowing my kids are in good hands and genuinely happy throughout the day. I can’t thank the team enough for the love and care they show my little ones. Highly recommend to any parent looking for a high-quality, supportive daycare!

We have loved our time at Skipwith Academy! Our youngest has attended for just over three years. The Director and Assistant Director are wonderful and the staff is friendly. Our daughter is transitioning to kindergarten and we will miss the center, which has felt like an extension of our family for so long.

This facility is by far the best daycare my kids have been to. The staff and directors are very communicative in regards to my children. Most of all, my children enjoy attending this daycare.

Skipwith Woodlake has been a true blessing to my family. Lori and Faith have always been warm, welcoming and willing to help out in every way they can. I can't thank them enough! My kids have flourished and blossomed so much. Definite recommendation !

We have two kids at Skipwith and just love it! All the staff and teachers know our kids even if they’re not in their class - and I’ve seen both our kids thrive there in the last year we’ve been with the school. Highly recommend!

Skipwith Woodlake is our second Skipwith —after having to change due to a move/distance. Both experiences have been great. We have both a pre-k child and infant at Skipwith Woodlake and the care and dedication from each and every teacher is spectacular. We have watched our older child learn so much over the past year, I have no concerns about her preparedness for kindergarten. Everyone is kind, considerate and helpful each and every day.

Director doesn't care about anything but bringing kids in to make numbers. Teachers to student ratio is dangerous. Then some teachers are just there for a job not because they want to be around kids. I picked up my son nasty, with poop in diaper, and missing a shoe numerous time. The last time I picked him up before we left, he had poop dried up his back, 1 shoe, and when I asked for his spare clothes they handed me the lost and found bucket to pick from and not his clothes I had previously brought in. Not to mention one day I got there to pick up my son and the DIRECTOR walked another kid out of a class at front door and said here you go have a great day, just for me to inform her that wasn't my kid. I withdrew him after 3 months. And only waited that long to get my schedule switched to wait for new daycare.

If are considering enrolling your child at Skipwith Academy, please continue your search. This is a horribly managed and understaffed facility where your child's health and welfare are at risk. I made the mistake of enrolling my daughter at Skipwith commencing 8/29/22. My wife and I decided to withdraw our daughter from Skipwith on 9/22/22.In the span of less than one month, we received three different emails from the Skipwith administrators requesting we keep our child home due to "significant staffing issues" at the school. In addition, we encountered at least four different teachers who cycled through my daughter's PREP class. Worst of all, my daughter suffered a serious ankle injury while in attendance (images attached). When my daughter suffered her ankle injury, no one from Skipwith notified us. Instead, we discovered the injury upon picking her up from school. We promptly notified the head administrator at Skipwith of the incident and provided immediate notice of my daughter's withdrawal. In response, the head administrator denied "seeing anything happen." If that wasn't bad enough, after withdrawing our daughter, the head administrator continued to hound us for an alleged unpaid tuition bill (despite my repeated requests for clarification on how the bill was calculated). Skipwith's head administrator then opted to turn the bill over to collections rather than engaging with me, the paying parent, directly.Overall, this was one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a learning center. I would strongly encourage any parents thinking of enrolling their child at Skipwith to consider other options in the area (Primrose, Goddard, Cedarhouse, just to name a few).

Significant staffing challenges over the last year have made this center unreliable. Classrooms have been frequently closed and capacity is maxed out if you arrive late. Redeeming quality is our teacher in particular who our child loves dearly.

The staff, facility and teachers are amazing! This facility was recommend to both myself and my husband by multiple coworkers. We had a situation with our current daycare and the staff at Skipwith at Woodlake went above and beyond to help us figure something out. The school has separate play areas outdoors with covered patios for each age group, they have a dance troupe come in weekly, have baby yoga, sign language, and even teach kids how to wash their hands with sinks at their level. I am so excited for our son to start here.
