Call to get pricing and availability on some grass seed. Starts off, phone rings 9 times. Then someone picks up. I say, I just need to check on availability and price of grass seed. I get the, “hold on let me transfer you” line. Geez, how hard is it to check your inventory? Phone rings 11 times, no one picks up. I called back. Same woman picks up. I ask her, can’t you just tell me your availability and prices on one item. She’s says, “I’ve got a long line, can I have someone call you back.?” I just hung up. Now I remember why I stopped doing business with Southern States with my lawn business 7 years ago. Nothing has changed customer service wise since.
**edit** to top things off after I posted this review a family member stopped by for me because they knew how frustrated I was and so they thought they would do me a favor to go get the grass seed. They don’t even have the freaking seed I was calling about, they’re sold out! What a waste of time.

Southern States has the best new hay, their hay has always been good but the bales just delivered 08/22/2024 are wonderful. My mini's are picky eaters, they're finishing up every last piece!! This is Copa, she's 29 years old, and Magic, she's 19 years, happily eating their new hay!

Y’all can probably get a free pop up tent from one of your suppliers and put it up over the propane tank so the folks don’t have to pump gas in 100 degree heat in direct sunlight. Or you can pay for one.

Buyer beware! We bought a hydrangea tree last year, had some issues with it and made some complaints. They did not want to honor an exchange or refund. And now I am stuck with this little tree. Still looking pretty bad this year. Southern States definitely lacks knowledgeable staff when it comes to their bushes and trees. I have found a lot of conflicting information. Cross Creek Nursery is the way to go!

There really isn't another place like this around the area. They have a great variety of things from grass seed to hardware. My only wish is that they had some toilet repair parts. Otherwise, the people are very friendly and helpful. Thanks!
