Not open on Saturday, don't do same day, reservations, but their phone lines give you different options, which gives you the impression that they are open on Saturday. For reservations. Sad, we were looking forward to being here.

Nice, safe, clean place to stay with or without your boat. Patio area with fire pit. Restaurant in walking distance. Price is reasonable for today's market in vacations on the lake. Check in was easy also. No need to stop to get a key or fill out crazy paperwork. Rooms are decent sized, clean, and bug free!!! Dock with power outlets for charging your boat too. Book early as it fills up fast.

If your idea of a “resort” is no staff, bad lighting, and the worst beds you’ve ever slept on, then this place will be perfect for you.
We came here for our 39th anniversary expecting comfort and at least some level of service. Instead, we got remote check-in and zero on-site help. No concierge, no reservation desk—no one.
The Room:
Two bathroom lights didn’t work, plus the light over the table was out.
The only table and chairs were an outdoor wrought iron patio set—inside the room. Uncomfortable and impractical.
No desk chair.
The beds were so bad that the sides sank straight to the box springs or platform. Calling them “beds” feels generous.
The Amenities:
Coffee maker only works with the provided discs—just 2 regular and 3 decaf. We ended up buying instant coffee elsewhere.
Unsure if all stovetop burners even worked; we only used one to boil water.
The Positives (because there were a few):
Refrigerator, Wi-Fi, and TV worked.
The room was spacious (except the bathroom) and looked clean.
Bottom Line:
This place is on the water, but that’s where the “resort” experience ends. It’s essentially a basic rental with a nice location. For the price and the title, we expected far more. Sadly, our anniversary stay was memorable for all the wrong reasons.

Disappointed in our stay this time. We have been staying here for the last 3 years. The last 2 years we have booked the 2 bedroom Suite. We love the location, boat access, and beach amenities. However, this time our room was VERY dirty and the bed in the one room was so squeaky, every time either my husband or I would move it would wake us up. The floor in the room felt very sandy and gritty, there was a used washcloth in the shower, and dust balls all along the floor. There were also lots of bugs, and the refrigerator was leaking on the floor. I'm not sure if we will stay here again. I'll be looking into other options for next year.

This is a great location right on the lake. We had the best time and already planned our 2nd stay at Halesford Harbour Resort. We had a pet friendly room, which was great and was able to rent a dock, so we could take off on our boat anytime of the day or evening. We highly recommend this location!

Cute little spot on the water. It's fairly priced and conveniently located to many spots. They also send you a code for the keypad for contactless check-in. The only downfall was that the room had puddles of water on the floor (room 24) upon arriving. We turned the heat on since it was chilly at night, and it smelled of smoke, and the smoke detector went off. Upon inspection, the air filter looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a year, so we took the liberty to clean it, and it made the smoking stop. The heat worked fine afterward.

The location is awesome!!! Simplistic accommodations but clean. Goal is to spend time on the lake, not in a room! Reservations easy to make. Staff helpful .

Location, location, location with a boat slip, too. So beautiful and relaxing on the water. See you next year.

Worst accommodation ever. Room 11 was dirty and greasy on every corner from the walls, floor, refrigerator to furniture. There was blood on the walls and everything in the bathroom was moldy, even the soap. The smell was pungent and unbearable. We left straight away. No contact person on site, no response to contact attempts to date, almost two weeks later. I'm still waiting for the refund!!

We rented a room at The Inn and were so excited when we arrived. We were overlooking the lake and had our own deck! There is a restaurant/ bar on the property that my daughter and son in law enjoyed. Halesford Harbor is on a cove of Smith Mountain Lake. The upper section is for Motor Homes and there is also a campground. Very eclectic, beautiful place!
