I recently had an incredibly disappointing experience at Trippie Hippie in Moneta, Virginia, on July 17, 2024, and I feel compelled to share my ordeal. From the moment my family and I walked through the door, the owner bombarded us with an onslaught of invasive questions, treating us as though we were criminals rather than valued customers. This immediately set a negative tone for our visit. The situation only worsened when I inquired about the price of a pair of earrings that I liked. The owner pointed to the wrong section and told me they were $12.99. When I corrected her and indicated the correct section, she insisted that they were still $12.99. However, upon checking out, I was shocked to see that she rang them up for $17.99 on the receipt. This blatant misinformation felt deceptive and dishonest. Adding insult to injury, I decided to smell one of their roll-on perfumes labeled "Vanilla Rain." To my surprise, it was completely scentless, so I placed it back on the shelf. Within seconds, an employee stormed over and demanded that I purchase the perfume since I had “sampled” it. Only then did I notice a sign that read something like "we don’t have samplers so don’t test them." However, the sign did not indicate that customers would be forced to buy the product if they tested it. Ultimately, my total came to over $32, which was far beyond my expectations. This included the overpriced earrings and the scentless perfume that I was coerced into purchasing. The entire experience was marred by poor customer service, misleading information, and an unwelcoming atmosphere. I was informed by a trustworthy family member that she was watching me, specifically, the entire time on the cameras, as if she was being paid to observe my every move. I cannot recommend Trippie Hippie to anyone and strongly advise potential customers to be wary of their practices.
Edit: Never once did I steal anything from this store, you must be mixing me up with someone else. Pull the alleged surveillance footage up and I can assure you nothing was put into my bag.

Giving 1 star because cant give a zero. We encountered a toxic employee and environment in this store. I have never seen or heard anyone more rude. Certainly not peace and love. If you were the owner, shame on you. If you are an employee, go work where you dont see the public. We had items of about $300 that we left on the counter. I have been to your store since they opened. Never again. And i will tell everyone i know, and my guests to not buy from you. If the employee is let go, i may reconsider.
Send phantom customers to your establishment to test your clerks!

I went to Trippie Hippie today and didn’t buy anything but the worker there was very rude. She watched us like a hawk on the cameras behind the desk. We even tested something and she demanded us to buy it since we sampled it. Guess you’re not allowed to sample there. Also very overpriced, little beaded bracelets were $16 so I don’t suggest visiting this store.

opened the door that was unlocked, before I could take 2 steps in I was rudely asked why I was entering the store to which I responded "to look around the store?" and was told I wasn't allowed inside unless I was purchasing kratom and asked to leave.

Wow some people ! As of June 23, 2022 I called and asked one of the other owners so they said if they had Fizzy Pop incense. I was able to find some last month at the 5 Below Store in Roanoke. Instead of driving to Roanoke I thought why not go here its closer and patronize my area business. Low and behold rude partner they only sell the short sticks. Okay can you buy the long ones? No we have short sticks. Bottom line well, she says then go to 5 below. Wow, I will never call or go here if your going to act like that. Then apparently you don't need my business. Now I know being a retired business owner they can order them, guess not.
Misty. Mountain Wares and 5 Below here we come. Thank you for being so kind and attentive. I can't see how these reviews are saying your so nice. Hum.....

Could have spent hours here today just looking around. The store is full of various type items to choose from. The lady working was very friendly. I was pleasantly surprised to find a fun little card and “extra goody” in my bag when I got home. Check this place out!!!
