Outstanding Breakfast. Scrambled Eggs perfectly fluffy, Berry Parfait was zesty. The Grits were the real deal served in a bowl surrounded by melted butter. Biscuits tasted homemade. I regret not trying the Belgian waffle. Do not pass up Breakfast at the Curly Maple.

I’ve stopped by twice now, once during a weekday and once during the weekend. Both times I’ve noted that the receptionists/waitresses were very inviting and pleasant to interact with, which has been great. I’ve had the chicken Cesar wrap and the fried chicken sandwich - both were great. I’ll definitely stop by again when I’m in the area and hungry.
If you’re getting something to go just ask the waitress for a menu, it’s not always clear where you can find it otherwise - but they’ll be happy to help.

Great little store in downtown Monterey. Lots of local goods from the county you can buy. Staff are really nice. Ordered food there before and enjoyed it. Not a large dining area but plenty of room if your there not on a festival weekend.

My wife and I had breakfast here. Very good! She said the grits were the best she'd ever had. I was very fond of the biscuits. Nice atmosphere. The coffee's pretty good too.

I have eaten here several times and I am always impressed with the quality of food, the warm welcoming atmosphere, and the gentle staff. Absolutely love breakfast served on the weekends. This is where I bring family and friends when they visit, and they leave with thoughtful keepsakes.

Simple menu; made it easy to order. The only negative I have is that they didn't add a lot of detail to what exactly comes with what you order. Our waffles arrived with toppings on them, a type of icing and berries. They were delicious, but my son is incredibly particular about what is on his food, so if we had known, we would have requested the waffles plain. They locally source fresh eggs for their resturant, I got the scrambled eggs with american cheese, they tasted incredible. I will definitely go back to The Curly Maple the next time I visit Monterey, VA.
Dietary restrictions: They offer gluten-free options and were very helpful to my friend who has celiac disease. Staff were informed on what menu items were gluten-free, which made it a lot easier for my friend to select from the menu in accordance with her dietary restrictions.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to The Curly Maple! We opted to stay in one of their ‘Suite Spots’ rooms during our visit to the Highland County Maple Festival. We were pleasantly surprised by how spacious our accommodations were for our family of four(2 adults, 2 children)! We were in the Maple Suite, overlooking the courthouse lawn, with its many festival vendors and artisans just steps away from our room!Of course, we couldn’t wait to try out the delicious food that we had seen on the menu posted Curly Maple’s Google listing. The custom made maple-pecan coffee grab n go breakfast biscuits were delicious and convenient for us take with us on our drive to the nearby Sugar Houses and farms.We were not disappointed with our lunch selections once we returned to the Curly Maple. The Maple Bacon Lettuce and Tomato sandwich was incredible! My wife ordered the Brisket Nachos, which were divine!The only thing better than our accommodations and food, was the AMAZING service that we received from Sherry and her super friendly staff. They made us feel like family from the moment we checked in upon our arrival!!Our family has decided that the next time we come to the Maple Festival we are Definitely staying at the Curly Maple!!Thanks Sherry and Cathy for an unforgettable experience!!
Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcome, will be fascinated by the assortment of gifts, snacks, drinks and food!

I visited The Curly Maple for the 1st time during the Highland Co. Maple Sugar Festival. The restaurant was very busy from the festival, so we did wait for a seat, but not too long. The BLT sandwich with maple bacon, lettuce, tomato, and garlic aioli on sourdough bread was absolutely scrumptious. The brocolli salad was the best I have ever had because it was not drowned in mayonaise. They also have lots of unique gifts, maple syrup, and food items for sale as well. I bought some maple syrup for gifts (and for me). Check it out, you will find something that suits your fancy.

We enjoyed lunch here today while visiting Monterey for “Wintertide”. My husband had a smashed cheeseburger and I had a garden BLT with sweet potato fries. Both were excellent! They have a variety of specialty foods and drinks and they carry a lot of local products. Support them!

Recently had my wedding reception here and Cappy was absolutely outstanding! Everyone loved the food she catered. It was the perfect space for about 50 people. Charm, coziness and character was out to play at the Curly. Was the best day ever !!!
