This is a great bank with great customer service. I'm not sure why anyone would give them a bad review. I have been banking there for years. I have never had a bad experience. I am 100%confident that the bad reviews was posted by disgruntled people who were in the wrong and didn't get their way.

Mount Jackson is a small town distant from any major urban area. First Bank is the only bank in town. Today I needed to have an important paper notarized so went to the bank for help. I am not a First Bank customer but thought that the bank would serve me for a fee. Unfortunately the bank officer who greeted me flatly refused to help me. I asked do you have a notary and he asked are you a customer. I said no but will you accept a fee. He said no. I asked him if there were any other notaries nearby and he referred me to Harrisonburg, which is 45 minutes away. One star to the bank for its lack of community service. They have a notary, so how hard is it to go ahead and notarize the document and accept a fee?

I’ve had nothing but bad experiences with this branch. Most of the people are nice enough but they take your money every chance they get. I do not recommend first bank at all. Take your money elsewhere. Will NEVER bank here again.

Nothing really bad to say about the account or anything...it's the customer service that's a problem! You go to their branch to speak to someone about a problem or even just to givethem requested information & your told to have a seat in their lounge area where you proceed to wait over an hour with no service. You then let the teller know that you'll come back the next day & all of a sudden everyone has a few minutes to help you. If your looking for a bank that actually cares about it's customer, First Bank is not it!
