A great place to stay and explore the Natural Bridge area. Clean and comfortable with classic charm, history and enjoyable dining. Friendly staff provide excellent service.Rooms: Nice and clean! Beds were comfortable.Food & drinks: Nice breakfast! A dining room and tavern offer great options to avoid driving.Noteworthy details: Friendly, knowledgeable staff help to share the history of the hotel. A mini-museum with artifacts offers extra charm.

A remarkable historic hotel. Absolutely beautiful grounds that are well kept. New heating and cooling in all the rooms controlled by the guest. The Colonial Dining Room is beautiful and serves reasonably priced food. Red Fox tavern is great as well. You can't go wrong.

Comfortable Hotel. Currently remodeling for a more modern feel. Definitely just a place to get a good night rest, not many amenities.

Bunch of weird chants in the forest, low water pressure, and our neighbor was playing the saxaphone.

I pulled over due to bad weather. This was nearby so I checked in for the night. Wow! What a beautiful place. And fabulous staff. They closed the restaurant a bit early due to low occupancy, but not until we had dinner. And the food was Great.

No matter what Val said, she is in it for herself .My husband and I reserved a room,Deluxe, in the main building. When he arrived at the room(212),upon opening the door, he turned on the light, and to his surprise, the bed was not made, towels missing, used coffee cup on the sink, back to the desk he went.Gave us a new room(214),clean, but the heater vent vibration was so loud we could hear it all the way to the elevator. January night temps. in the 30's. The room was near the end of the hallway. The desk clerk gave us a space heater. Nice, thank you, but, though it didn't work when we plugged it in unless we held the nob down, plus the outlets were loose and cut out. Dangerous.Makes we wonder if housekeeping helps maintenance with workorders.SMHNew room. 10:30 pmThree rooms in one night, very unlikely we will visit again.

The hotel has a lot of history and is very close to the natural bridge. I felt that the breakfast was very tasty. We had drinks and dinner in the Red fox tavern too, the bartender Jen is great at mixing drinks, I just told her my favorite flavor and she served up a lovely drink. I will surely come back here.

We were staying at the The Inn at Forest Oak and they suggested this place. We came in and it was a very slow rainy night so we had the whole place to ourselves. To our delight the food was great and the prices were respectable. Oh, the staff was so kind to us.Food & drinks: Great food ans good prices. The mashed potatoes are homemade! Ans delish!

Amazing part of virginia, amazing views and hospitality, and if you stop into this hotel you will be treated with great brews and atmosphere.Nearby activities: Many many many 4x4 trails in the area and many pedestrian trails in the blue ridge, also this hotel is directly across from the natural Bridge walking trail, you could literally walk across the street and down some paths to see mountains rocks and waterfalls, it is one of Virginia's most beautiful locations, as a 27 year old Virginia native.Food & drinks: The most I can say is they carry a great variety in beer and liquor, if you like craft ipas they got em, and browns and stouts.

My wife and I were disappointed in our accommodations. We were looking forward to staying in this beautiful historic building, full of warmth and charm. Instead, we were put in a separate building with very basic amenities. We may as well have stayed in a budget motel.

The hotel is basically worse than a motor lodge at a truck stop. If I could give this motel a 0 - zero, I would. Bugs everywhere, musty smell, shower disgusting, simply by far the worse place I’ve ever stayed. I had to sleep in a chair afraid of the bugs. Stayed here with a team of folks everyone had bugs crawling everywhere. Do not stay here!
