BayPort Credit Union is probably the best banking institution in our area. The employees are always friendly and helpful. I have never had a bad experience with them. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

First and foremost I've come in contact with some mean people in my life but Bayport takes the cake. I've never been talked to as if I were the bottom of a person's shoe. I was late on one car payment and called to let the rep know, you would've thought I stole something out of their purse. These women were nasty and insulting. They reported me to the credit bureau, froze my account, and debit card. and created a hardship!!! Over 1 payment!!! I pray nothing ever happens to any of them. I truly do. I pray they never go through any hardships or ever have illness, experience domestic violence, or anything that may turn their lives upside down. Life happens and sometimes you have no control over the when, why, where or how. I pray they have someone as kind as Stacey but I pray Stacey keeps her head and virtue. It's easy to laugh and mock people when you get around others or you've had hard day, but one thing for certain you can be humbled. In these days you have to understand trouble and hard times are never far, just pray you have the strength to get through them!!! Bayport is not the bank for real people or real problems. They really need to train their representatives on emotional intelligence, empathy, problem solving, compassion, and people skills!!! It's ok to be human and to feel!! Crazy..1 payment. Sad times.

After being a member of Bayport for over 30 years I am leaving this credit union. It has become clear that over the past few years Bayport is getting out of the business of good customer service. The new automated teller machines are a disaster, with many of the features not working the majority of the time. Most recently, and the final straw for me involved problems with the acceptace of money orders in the new automated machines. The machine accepts the money order, then tells you it can't read it, asks you to put the correct amount in, you enter the amount, it then accepts it. Here's the fun part, days later you get an email from a DO NOT REPLY email telling you there was an errror, the amount is immediately deducted from your account and they mail you your money order back holding up your funds for over a week. As a landlord accepting money orders from tenants you can see how this is a problem. After talking to a customer service representative I learn that when there is an error with a money order a Bayport employee never physically looks at the document in even the smallest effort to rectify. They only look at the scan and then mail the check back. If you're wondering how much effort they put in to resolving an issue that their machine caused, the answer is zero. Bayport puts the entire weight and hassle of this inconvenience on the customer. This hands off customer service approach is a major failure for Bayport. It is unacceptable that when there is an issue such as this the customer receives a DO NOT REPLY email followed by mailing the money order in question back. In short, do not trust the new automated teller machines, avoid my headache. Do yourself a favor and avoid Bayport all together.

I tried to open a checking and saving account. The employee passed over me twice and helped someone else. I guess they don't want my money. Poor customer service.

My Great Grandmother banks here. She has to call in to hear her balance. We write her checks so she can pay her bills and she signs them. We have had Vickey Helmick call and accuse us of writing false checks and our grandmother not knowing it. Definitely closing our accounts, this was a horrible experience and this kind of customer service is ridiculous.

I have been a member for about 5 years, recently visited the Marshall Avenue Branch in Newport News where I had the pleasure of being help by Shalisea (probably not spelled correctly). She is an awesome young lady. She is personable, knowledgeable and very pleasant. We talked while she did my transaction and made my banking experience great. She is an asset to the Bayport team.

Wow. I mean really wow. I've banked with BayPort Credit Union for over 3 years now and have never been mislead until this afternoon. For one, the employees here seem to have a very nonchalant attitude followed by very piss poor customer service. This was the 3rd branch I approached after being informed that the new membership promotion was still in place. After wasting time as well as gas traveling to the location(s) I've decided to write this review addressing the matter(s) at hand. So attention BAYPORT CREDIT UNION, please be on one accord when offering membership deals! Inform your MEMBERS as well as the employees, because your employees have a difficult time knowing. Also, way are the branch numbers posted not the actual branch location? I was told inaccurate information by first a gentleman whose name I didn't quite catch, then by Ms Christal who was very little to no help. Overall this has been an absolute disaster of an experience and I shall share this experience with everyone I know and speak to.

I recommend navy federal if want to get a loan or any real help. Bayport do not have any confident in their members. They are to strict on approving a loan and I been with them almost 15 yrs. Very disappointing. That's why I join navy federal bc they help you know matter how bad your situation is.

We moved back to the area in the last couple of years. Prior to this we had a credit union acct with a different bank. For 7 yrs we banked with them and never had a problem. We went under maybe twice in those 7 yrs. When we moved to Bayport, We've never seen any other bank so inept when it comes to the Debit/Credit process. My husbands payroll goes in on Wednesday sits in the acct but doesn't credit to it. On Thursday night all record of the transaction disappears and 4 hrs later (12:38am on Friday)credits to the acct. I called one time to inquire why they just didn't credit it to the account that day, they told me they didn't see the transaction I was talking about. That Wednesday the transaction disappeared and it didn't credit to the account until 9am Friday morning. Credits and debits randomly appear and disappear, which result in snowballed overdraft fees. We keep good up to date records of our money. When we called the first time they told us "you need to keep better records, we didn't do anything wrong". It the same attitude every time. The way they set their system up you can not prove that something underhanded is going on. They have probably taken over $1,500 in overdraft fees from us in the last year and a half. Something is obviously off, but we can't prove anything. This has been going on for the last year. Most recently they started charging to use ATMs that were completely free to use before. They didn't even send notification of the change, they just started charging. As soon as we can we'll be switching banks.

Hello all! :) First and foremost, I'll start off with I've been a customer for less than fourteen days. And, to add while only being 24 I've never have been so disrespected by any body or persons in a customer service location like I have been by their receptionist Brooke Winegrad and branch "manager" Kay Schomburg. When I told them of my qualms I was having with my loan process. I was repeatedly cut off and nobody actually cared to listen. I could go greatly into detail but then I'd start ranting. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND BAYPORT CREDIT UNION.

I think Bayport is a great bank and Mrs. Helmick has been so helpful in building my credit and buying my first car
