I would give it 0 if i could. Made reservation for 1pm for 2 days. Arrived to pick up and got told that it has to be back at 8am not the 1pm i reserved because he has a regular commercial client so more $ then what he would get from me. If the individual had called me prior to my arrival to give me that detail i wouldn’t have wasted my time and money on going to this location. If you can avoid renting here i would owner is very rude and will turn away and walk away at the first sign of disagreement to his conditions. Common curiosity would have been to let me know of the changes before my arrival that way i could cancel because i would have.

Would give it a 0 if i could! Rented a truck from Saturday till Monday drop off at 1pm, went to pick it up was told i needed to have it back by 8am since it was already rented out again told him i would not be able to have it back that early and how it was rented out if i had reserved it till 1pm and why i only heard this now at pickup?! Owner then said it’s his truck and he can do whatever he wants… what a nasty business no wonder it’s rated so low :) will be going to uhaul and so should you!

This guy is a con-man. He told me many times how his customers come first and how he doesn't care about renting budget trucks. He told me he wanted to make more money so I either pay for the optional insurance or I wouldn't get the truck. He also sells cars at this location. Judging from how the rental trucks were, I don't think anyone should give this man money for anything. U Haul is across the street, definitely just go there

*****? ? ?**** DO NOT RESERVE OR RENT from this location. The staff tried to give me a truck with the catalytic converter missing. Fortunately I did a through inspection. I had this truck reserved for weeks in advance and after the lady canceled my reservation she tried to charge me more. The staff is rude and not helpful I highly recommend choosing another rental company as the Budget representative was not helpful in keeping the same price I originally had.

DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT make a reservation from this place. I made one on May 8 for a 26' truck and on May 24 they called and told me they didn't have a truck for me 2 days before the scheduled pick up date. Even though I received a reminder email 6 hours prior to the call. They had no explaination or tried to assist me in any way really putting me in a bind. I called the 800 and was told a rep would be calling me within 2 hours. 24 hours later and no call. BEWARE. STAY AWAY

This is a third-party Budget truck rental location. This location requires additional insurance that is not stated anywhere on the Budget website. I contacted my insurance company to confirm that my insurance goes with me no matter what vehicle I drive as long as a CDL (Commercial Driver License) is not required. I have never been forced to purchase additional insurance to rent a moving truck. I contacted Budget customer service and they cancelled my reservation and I rented from a different location. This should have been clearly stated on the website when the reservation was made. I find surprise fees and/or hidden charges to be unprofessional and unethical. This experience was a waste of my time and resources.

I booked my reservation through Budget in April and received my confirmation email. When I went to pick up my cargo van in July, they claimed they had no available vans and could not help. I was offered nothing beyond call customer service. I am extremely disappointed and will not use this company again in the future.

This was mine and my husbands second time using Budget and have had a very good experience! It was super easy to make the reservation. We are moving across the country for the military, and the price was so much cheaper than UHaul and Penske. The gentleman there was so friendly! If you are moving, I highly recommend Budget!

Called to make a reservation about a truck rental spoke with Bobby j very rude. I make truck reservations all the time but I won’t be spending any more money on a company that can’t hire or train employees to be helpful or properly train them.

NEVER EVER GET A BUDGEG TRUCK! I went to the Hampton location two days ago to pick up my truck to move across the country and they said the two trucks they did have were unusable. One was infested with ROACHES and the other one was broken. They sent me to the other location by Denbigh in Newport News. When I got to that location, he tried to tell me they didn’t have any trucks at first until I told him the other store had already called and made sure they had one I could use, which he still didn’t believe me at first. Then the entire time I was there, he was going back and fourth between his personal computer which had betting on it and the work computer. After he finally got done with his game or whatever he was doing, he finish getting my paper work and we went to get the truck and trailer. The trailer was broken but he said it would still work and he didn’t feel like changing the paper work. At first I hadn’t notice the trailer was broken until my husband came over and said something about it and said I should say something so I did. After I did, he started yelling at my husband and said he didn’t care about his opinion. Just over all a terrible place and I will never recommend them ever and will never use them again. Also truck isn’t very great anyways, doesn’t go over 55 and is super unstable.

Owner is the worse!!! He is verbally and physically abusive. I made reservations for a truck one day in advance. When I walked in the office I was yelled and curse at the whole time. I was soooo shocked I didn’t know what to do then he attempting to put his hands on me. I ended up calling the police on him.... he lied to officers and then said his cameras wasn’t working for the officers to review this incident. I already contacted corporate... save yourself some time and money and go else where. Hopefully this will stop another young female from being abused by him and getting away with it....

Made it very easy to rent a truck for a local move, price was cheaper than any other truck rental place I've seen in town. Quick check in and check out. I paid in cash so I got my deposit back same day I returned the truck which was very nice. The trucks were clean and good on fuel. I will definitely return here when I move again next year.

My mother in law, myself, my fiancé and my sister and her husband were all at this location to pick up two 26 foot trucks and a car trailer that had been verified Friday. When we arrived, the employee Cynthia stated that they did not have both trucks and that the trailer was broken and could not be used...this is what transpired after we initially walked up to the location at 7:30am: here is how it started Issue one: We as a group and specifically Dr. Beverlee Engle of The Jasmine Charitable Trust, were not allowed into the Budget Truck Rental on Warwick Blvd in Newport News at 7:30am on June 17th 2019, with Service Dog Nora, who is for stability and other medical alerts for Dr, Beverlee. The employee Cynthia's exact quote was "uhuh I don't like dogs" Dr. Beverlee Engle, informed her it was a service dog and that she was allowed anywhere in buildings legally under federal law and the woman still refused us entry. So a disabled woman was sitting on the front concrete stairs of BUDGET TRUCK RENTAL on Warwick Blvd in Newport News for over 2 hours in the heat because of ignorance and idiocy. Second issue: The "Boss" Jennings was horrifically rude to not only my mother in law but to the rest of our group. He asked my fiancé, who is disabled and my brother in law who is also disabled to help him unhitch the broken car trailer by hand with no jacks or anything from the truck. I was sitting on the concrete steps outside because he wouldn't allow us in with the service dog, see issue above, and My response was "no, you are not going to make two disabled men lift that trailer" to which Jennings replied in the most horrifically rude tone "I wasn't talking to you, I was talking to her" referring to my mother in law. This sparked a reply of "you will not talk to me that way" by me and my fiancé stating that his attitude was out of line. He continues to berate me and my mother in law with rude comments to which I stand up two steps below him and he proceeds to yell at me "I am the boss" and points to his shirt and gets really close to me. He was aggressively leaning over me on the top step and was inches from my face when I tell him to "get the hell out of my face" to which he gets more physically aggressive and steps closer and continuing to yell that he was the boss and no one was going to tell him what to do. My Fiancé told him to back off and for me to walk away so I didn't get hurt so I did and Jennings final remark to me was "yeah thats right walk away, you better do what he says" in a mocking and belittling tone. I walked away and sat in my car due to my upset. This was one of the most unprofessional and disgusting displays of management I have ever seen in my life. This owner Jennings should NEVER be allowed to interact with any customers. I will be filing a report to the ADA about how he denied a service animal and caused an elderly disabled woman to sit on concrete stairs outside in the heat for 2 hours. I also will be contacting corporate about is aggressive and inappropriate actions. Please SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!
