I’m writing this review on behalf of my aunt. She came in the Newport News establishment and inquired about a rug that was on the showroom floor. The sales associate stated that she most definitely could have the rug ordered and delivered to her residence. She was currently in the middle of remodeling and opened the rugs a few weeks after it was delivered. She immediately stated to me that this is not the rug I purchased. She called several times and mentioned to the sales associate that she would be coming in the following week. The sales associate stated that the rug was still on the showroom floor and she look forward to seeing her. Long story short ——she arrived at Havertys and Surprise -surprise, the rug was gone off the showroom floor. Rather than honor a value customer, they decided to be deceitful. She decided not to pursue the matter anymore Because of the trickery. What a shame! Shame on you Havertys!

My wife and I were looking for a sleeper sofa. Haverty’s had the best selection we could find and we finally found a sleeper sofa that felt comfortable and fit our needs. Verbally we were told it would be delivered in two weeks but we were told that things do come up and it may take more time. That was three months ago. The delivery keeps getting pushed back every 15 days or so. I have called several times and am repeatedly told it is the vendor that is delaying our sofa. I get that, but that leads me to more unanswered questions. I’m willing to wait if I can get a realistic delivery date. However they keep kicking the can down the road. I ask to speak to a manager and have yet to be transferred to anyone who can give me more than an apology and say it is out of our control. I would have been satisfied if they told me they would reach out to their vendor and simply ask for a realistic update and explanation for the delay. But that seems to be an unrealistic expectation. I really wanted the sofa we found but they have been sitting on our $3400 for three months and we have nothing to show for it including a realistic date for delivery. I am hoping they are easy to deal with in canceling our order and getting our money back. It is a shame because we really liked that particular sofa.
