Wonderful first experience. The staff was very friendly and the doctor was awesome. The doctor explained everything clearly to me about the best care for my Yorkie Rylee's health. I will continue having Woodland Veterinary Hospital has my furbaby vet. Thank you all.

Even after staff poked Stanley with needles, he wanted to go back into the back room which says a lot about the caring hands that poked him. And they even put a cute Stanley Tucci headshot on Stanley's Rx baggie which had my fiance and me in the floor laughing when he pointed it out. I first went here for my dog Donnie because it was the closest vet to where I lived. Now I happily drive 25 minutes to bring Stanley here instead of somewhere closer. Thank you for still being the same awesome vet for my new dog!

I've been using Woodland Veterinary for years for my babies. The staff has always been so friendly and informative with their care. I'd recommend them anyway for your pets needs.

We visited Woodland for the first time today as my dog's usual vet couldn't get him in for his injured paw. I had called around to other vets first and they wouldn't even look at their calendars without me filling out paperwork and sending over records. I called Woodland today and they were able to get me in within two hours, the person who answered the phone was very kind and helpful. My dog has massive anxiety when he's at the vet and everyone we encountered was extremely patient and understanding. We saw Dr. DeAngelis who took her time with us, took genuine interest in my dog and even gave me some tips and recommendations for other issues I have with him. She did a thorough exam and prescribed him an anti-inflammatory medication that came in the cutest personalized bag for him! My experience here was great, very thorough and they were patient with my dog who doesn't like the vet or strangers. They'd back up and give us space for him to acclimate and they made me a part of his exam so he felt comfortable. I'm glad they didn't just jump to X-rays, although that's the next step if he doesn't improve. I have a standing appointment for both my dogs to get shots at their previous vet but once that's done I'll be switching them over to Woodland permanently.

We are new to Newport News and did a LOT of research to find a good vet for our cat. Our intention was to find a forever clinic and doctor, and we believe we have success! All the team members we interacted with were great. We felt that they were genuinely interested in our cat baby. They were gentle and understanding. When our cat got overwhelmed and hid, the doctor and vet tech (?) decided to patiently give him space and some time to try to come out on his own. There’s also an exit close to the exam rooms so that you don’t have to go through the lobby to leave—great for pets who aren’t used to being around other animals. The atmosphere of the clinic was comfortable and laid back. Dr. DeAngelis and Dee (vet tech I think) were knowledgeable and professional, yet very personable and sweet to us and our cat. Another woman cut our cat’s nails in such a quick and smooth manner that we were amazed! I think our cat was too, because nail cutting is quite the ordeal at home! Our appt was on a Friday morning, and on the following Monday morning we received an email that included blood panel results and detailed information with a recommendation for a plan going forward. It takes time to email patients like that, and it’s very appreciated since we could take our time to fully understand, and we can easily reference it later. There were big and little things that made it clear that they have the experience and consideration to create a positive experience for the patients as well as their parents.

The staff are always lovely and very attentive to Glomma's needs (and even just his love for attention). I believe it speaks volumes that my dog is not scared of going to the vet, and instead is always excited. Whenever we say "Wanna go to the vet?" He jumps around, tail wagging, to go see his friends here at Woodland Vet.

They make all visits quick and easy for both my cats. Reasonable prices for a $114 for my 4 year old cat, a routine check up visit and a rabies shot together. Gave me recommendations for supplements for my anxious cat for when will need to be on a long flight. A vet tech who has been clipping my black cats nails monthly since April even taught me how to safely clip her nails, even knowing that this would lose revenue, because now I can clip them myself(although they do it quicker and better than I can). I’m thankful for the thoughtful treatment of both of my cats. They even call the next day after an appointment to make sure they are ok.
