Silver Eagle has been a wonderful find for me and my mare. Tammy and Chris have been overseeing the farm for several years now and are not only kind, but also hard working and so good with the horses. I don’t get out to the farm on a routine basis anymore due to work, but Tammy is always quick to call with any concerns and often sends me updates and photos/videos. My mare (OTTB) has had no trouble keeping appropriate weight while she’s been at Silver Eagle. I trust them completely, and it’s also great to have a nice big ring along with two smaller options as well. Highly recommend!

Found the place through map quest. Tammy the owner was very nice and showed us around. Will definitely book lessons for my autistic daughter.

Nice people, Great Community, work out moving horses and transitioning your grain to their grain if you want.

Beautiful farm, Tammy and Chris are amazing people. They take amazing care of my animals. Have always been there for anything I've needed. Really a good solid farm.

Came back to Silver Eagle a couple of years ago. At first, we were pleasantly surprised at the barn's renaissance. But over the last year or so it's gone off the rails (note that almost every good review here is at least a year old). There's an obvious disregard for the safety of the horses. Broken fences that go unfixed for weeks (and horses escaping through them). Poor or no communication about highly contagious diseases (strangles). Deceptive and aloof management (in fact, when it was brought to the management's attention that horses were getting through the fence - adjacent to a 45-50 mph road! - they brushed it off with, "it's only horse yoga"). Dangerously large herd sizes. Double charging boarders for facility use. It's sad, since Silver Eagle showed so much potential for awhile. If you're looking for a place to board your horse, be wary of this barn.Notice that the owner's response doesn't address any of the issues. It's only a comment on me. We were and are not "disgruntled". Disappointed with the change in quality and integrity? Yep. But not disgruntled. He didn't say if they repaired the fence (they haven't); he didn't say if they reduced the herd sizes to safe levels (they haven't). Nothing related to horse care. Please take that into consideration when reading this review.Addendum: After being away from Silver Eagle for several months, I have strong circumstantial and 2nd hand evidence that they were not administering medicine to my horse. One of my horses that had trouble walking, couldn't be ridden, and was unable to lift his hooves for the farrier while boarded at Silver Eagle is now completely back to normal. This change occurred within 2 weeks of transferring from Silver Eagle, when we brought him to a barn that gave him his daily medicine.

Such a welcoming place. They treat you like family there. We scheduled a photoshoot for my sons first birthday. They set it all up exactly how we envisioned it. Thank you! We will def be back.

Took my 2 kids here for private lessons. They loved the experience, the coach, and the horses. Everyone here is friendly and knowledgeable they took the time to answer all my dumb questionsover the phone. Super easy and convenientto book through the website they use. Really, nice facilities I might take some lessons there myself when I find time.

I take riding lessons, pay for horse training, and board at this barn. But beyond that, I just hang out and enjoy being a part of the community. Silver Eagle stables made me feel welcomed from the very first meeting. Chris and Tammy made sure to introduce me to everyone. They are the on site management that have made many improvement to the barn and property over the past few years.I love the new Hopoti app for scheduling lessons, you can instantly see when an instructor is available and book your time without any back and forth texting. There seems to be a very long review here from a guy who claims to not be disgruntled.... Yet he keeps updating his review years later..... All of his claims about broken fences or mistreatment of animals are strange to me. If you met the feeders, Bailey and Jen, you would see that they love horses more than humans. They treat them with the highest level of care. Chris is constantly working to fix fences (some broken by my horse) and improve the community. He is out 6 days a week from sunup to sundown. To say he gives his all is an understatement. If your horse is breaking fences like mine was, it's hard to blame the barn they live at for their bad behavior. Horses will be horses. My one wish is that we had a large indoor riding arena. But, money doesn't grow on trees.

I boarded my horse here for about a year before I moved out of town and they took fantastic care of my horse! I never once had a complaint and she was always very well looked after when I was gone for long periods of time. I highly recommend this place if you're looking in the DC metro area.

I took a lesson or two here about a year ago with Katrina. She sent me plus a little (maybe 11) year old working student into a field to catch a horse on our own. Multiple horses started to run around us and the little girl looked worried and wasn’t sure what to do. To be honest, I was also pretty shaken up by it (it didn’t seem like they wanted to be separated from each other). I wasn’t sure if this was standard procedure or not, but after speaking with other stables, it turns out that it’s not. I don’t want to get any one into trouble, but it felt pretty unsafe (even if it was perfectly safe, to me — a complete novice — it did not feel that way). I also noticed during one lesson that they had 2 of us in the ring, and then a 3rd person joined, and one of the trainers got visibly annoyed by the lack of space and moved her student out of the ring. It just felt cramped. But Katrina was super nice overall.

Had my first lesson with Marci and Whiskey here this past weekend and I enjoyed it immensely. Taking riding lessons is something that I have wanted to do my whole life. After contacting several stables, SES was the only one who made me feel like they actually wanted me. After my lesson I talked with several of the staff and also met the owner, Tom. They were all so friendly and welcoming! Even though I've only had one lesson so far, I truly feel like I have found a home and a family. I am very much looking forward to a long relationship with these folks! Keep up the good work!

My son has been taking riding lessons at Silver Eagle for about 6 months and he loves it there. Katie is his instructor and she has taught him so much. She helped him gain back his confidence after a fall he had before coming to Silver Eagle. He has also had classes with Erica and Katrina, who are excellent instructors as well, and are so helpful and encouraging. My son wants to add that the instructors are very nice, skilled, and they help him a lot. He says it’s really fun and the horses are so sweet.

This stable is a ramshackle organization in more ways than one. If it was possible to post a zero star review, I would do so. I began riding with Katie after a consultative lesson. Her resume and background were great, and I needed someone to improve my hunter/jumper style and eventually get me to show. However, in a foreboding omen, I had trouble getting into contact with Katie to arrange weekly lesson following our consultative lesson. Despite a polite text and voicemail message, at least a week went by with me not hearing from her. Finally, the owner of the Silver Eagle Stables, Tammy, circled back and arranged for me to have a lesson. From the off, Katie gave me the distinct feeling that I was not a priority once lessons began. She was constantly distracted, at one point using the last 15 minutes of my lesson to groom her horse for a show she was participating in immediately after. During another lesson, she engaged in distracted conversation with Cleopatra, another instructor who was repulsive in more ways than one, and only gave me advice on my form as an afterthought. One week when Katie was out of town and arranged for me to have a lesson with another instructor, she informed the instructor that my lesson was at 10 while informing me my lesson was at 9. I imagine one can guess what happened on Saturday morning when I arrived to an instructor already in the midst of training another student and confused as to why I had arrived an hour early. When I showed her the text from Katie that my lesson was at 9, the instructor shrugged her shoulders and said "that's Katie-always bad with communication" as though this was acceptable. However, what happened following July 4 was the height of unprofessionalism. Katie was out the week of July 4 and I attempted to get a lesson with one of her other instructors that she trained. She only opted to inform me the morning of July 6 as to whether an instructor was available, despite my having informed her three days before that I was interested in a lesson. Of course, I was taking a train out of town that day, so could not get a lesson. When I came back to DC, Katie texted me as to my availability. I texted her back only for her not to reply with an adequate lesson time for four days. I texted her back, left a voicemail message and called the stables over a period of two weeks with no reply. I then received a call from Tammy, who engaged me in a conversation that was downright surreal. She informed me that I was right to be irritated and that Katie often shuts down and does not communicate lesson times with her students, and that she has begged Katie-her employee-to do her job multiple times but that her first passion is showing. It occurred to me that as Tammy was the owner, it was her responsibility to make certain her employees behave in a professional manner. Hiring an instructor who fails to communicate her availability to her students is rather like employing a glass hammer-it entirely defeats the purpose. Finally, after failing to receive a lesson time from Katie, I was referred to another instructor, Devon.Upon my arrival for my lesson with Devon, I was informed by Cleopatra that Devon was unavailable for a lesson as her car had been damaged in a car crash. Cleopatra then waddled off and refused to aid me in any fashion. As I had not been at the stables for a month, I was unaware that the horse I usually rode was in a different paddock. It took me 25 minutes into my lesson time to retrieve the correct horse, and I was livid at the lack of guidance I paid for. I informed Cleopatra this was unacceptable, and she waddled off to Tammy. I then informed Tammy of my disappointment, only for her to inform me that I was to blame for Devon's car accident because she was driving to a lesson, apparently unaware that she managed a lesson barn. Cleopatra then stood off and refused to instruct me like a petulant infant. I informed Tammy then that this would be my last time at the facility. It is plain that while Silver Eagle may be a mediocre boarding facility, as a lesson
