I am very disappointed with the service I received. They did a diagnostic to find out why my thermometer kept indicating my car was getting heated. I had never had any problem with my car running hot before. After driving the car for a week after the service my thermometer light started flashing. My husband came to my work site in Hampton to look at my car and found that I was very low on coolant. Am I missing something? Should they have looked at the coolant level? I also got an inspection.
If you take your vehicle there, make sure you are aware of everything you need, look at all your fluid levels, they don't top off fluids. It seems like they are only interested in creating labor charges. I wish I had read the previous reviews.

Please do not take your vehicle here to be serviced. They charged my elderly mother approximately $500 dollars when she was only supposed to be charged for an inspection and oil change ($150). The staff member I spoke with said he gave their recommendations and she authorized the work! I explained to them that my mother is an elderly woman and she does not know anything about cars or trucks and she misunderstood what you explained. She did not realize that she did not “need” those recommended services for the vehicle to still operate. She said the staff member told her she “needed” the extra car services so my mother was in fear of the vehicle not working properly so she gave authorization! I understand it’s a business and they need to make money, but have some integrity and don’t try to get over on vulnerable people. When we brought the vehicle to the car center my mother even stated that all she needed was the inspection and the “Mobile 1” oil in the vehicle. They were clear on the services she asked for but it was more important to get some “easy money” because she is an “old woman” that is not educated about cars or trucks. They did not offer to give a discount and they did not offer “to not” charge her due to the misunderstanding! The male staff member just kept repeating himself over and over again and saying that “they already started the work” and once again “she gave authorization.” So, they got over on a vulnerable, elderly woman, but I believe Karma is real. Once again I do not recommend bringing your vehicle to AAA Car Care Center in Norfolk, VA. They do not have good customer service and they have predatory business practices.

Upon arriving at the location for a simple airbag check, the agent at the desk politely informed me that they were fully booked, which meant I would have to leave my car, which I completely understood. However, the concern arose when he mentioned a $149.00 fee just to initiate the process. He did not inquire if I was a member, which would have allowed me to know about any potential discounted rates. This prompted me to leave and seek another location. The one on Virginia Beach Boulevard kindly asked about my membership status and provided me with a significantly lower rate. The key takeaway from this experience is the importance of consistency and ensuring that staff receives adequate training regarding memberships to prevent customers from seeking services elsewhere.

I went in for a loud noise in my front end, paid $$75 for a diagnostic test, which showed I needed struts and a whole bunch of other things that Would cost over $2000 even with my AAA discount. Took My vehicle to someone else that did not find half the things listed on my AAA summary, I walked away paying only $350 and the the noise is gone

My daughter and friend were traveling and heard a noise from the front of her car. They drove it to a aaa since we are members and apparently nothing was found. The girls were charged a $ 100 for a diagnosing fee according to what was relayed to my wife by a service person.
I read the entire website and see no mention of a diagnosing fee. If this is how aaa treats it memebers i see no need to have this service. Is it posted and do your customers sign anything agreeing to such a fee prior to service?
Very suspicous 2 young girls and a deaf dog were charged $100

Was told 4pm completion time for a state inspection on a vehicle. Arrived at 4:15pm, job was not completed. When calmly expressing concern to the desk attendant on duty, the excuse was that the time promised didn't matter and that the inspector that promised a time was on lunch. Who takes lunch after 4pm at a shop that closes at 6pm?
The combative and aggressive desk attendant didn't even so much as offer an apology for the errors, regardless of the fact that this conflicted with work scheduling. He didn't even share his name. I would highly recommend people avoid using this location, as it seems customer service is not only unimportant but not considered whatsoever.
When calling AAA to file a complaint I was informed this is an independent shop, even though their brand is all over the building. Keep that in mind too, AAA doesn't feel they have to hold the employees here accountable for poor service.

Very good customer service. They keep you up to date on vehicle progress. They are more accessible than the dealership with quick turnaround. I have had 3 major services there in the last 6 months with no issues: camshaft adjuster & coil replacement, upper catalytic converter replacement, and full tune-up (spark plugs, wiring & coil, etc.) on my Hyundai Santa Fe Sport.

My alternator went out and just about every mechanic other than dealers are closed on Saturday now so I took it to AAA. He said they would have to check on the part but they close at 12. I explained that my mother uses a power chair and that was the only vehicle with a lift to take her places. He said no promises but he would do his best and was able to locate the part. About 2 hours later I was on my way. Very friendly and on the ball. Thanks for being open when it counts!
