I had a disappointing experience at Citi Trends recently and will not be spending my money there again. I visited the store in search of a Christmas gift or home decor, but unfortunately did not find anything that caught my eye while browsing majority of the juniors section, pajama section, sock section, and purse section. As I was about to leave, I briefly considered a purse but decided not to get it and returned it to the shelf. Yes, I tried it on in the mirror but decided it was not worth it. I then found an item that I needed for work and proceeded to the register to make my purchase.
While checking out, the associate asked me about the bag “where is my(the associate) bag?” I was offended by the accusation or whatever you want to call it, as I had not taken anything from the store other than the item I was currently buying. I felt stereotyped in that moment. I understand the importance of asset protection, being that I worked in retail myself, but being accused of taking a bag before even leaving the store was low.
For more context: before asking me that question she was scanning the purse wall pointing her eyes and head in that direction. Then she asks me that question.. in my head I’m really wondering if she was that concerned maybe politely say one moment and walk over there to see. Or maybe get on the walkie and ask your coworker..
If this is the way that Citi Trends treats hardworking customers, then they can be assured that they will not be receiving any more of my money. It is important to treat all customers with respect and trust, and I did not feel that was the case during my recent visit.
I get it, you’re doing your job. But maybe think before you speak because you never know how your words or actions can impact someone… especially during the holidays.

Terrible customer service all around starting with the so called wannabe “manager” she has the most disgusting attitude towards anyone and everyone from the moment you walk in that store making u feel uncomfortable to even shop she gives off such bad energy with Her ugly dirty looks save ur self a visit and dont go here take ur business else where, where its an actual decent store!!

I absolutely love this store the staff is friendly it's ALWAYS CLEAN AND SO WELL ORGANIZED!!! You can find nice cheap clothes for the whole family...they have luggage and all..it's my go to Citi Trends...Thank me later Stink?

Short hair, straight hair (Rihanna type haircut) African American female took extreme offense because I didn’t verbally respond back to her “Welcome to Citi Trends” greeting. Instead of moving on, she started verbally saying “Welcome to Citi Trends” louder over and over, as it was a simple mistake on my end. She then went loudly to the other workers insulting my girlfriend as in their words, “she didn’t say hey back”. Yucky store, won’t return. Didn’t purchase anything and plan on telling all my friends personally and all my online social media followers my experience.
