This is a horrible store as far as cleanliness and customer service. Today I made an employee aware of the unjust customer service I had been consecutively recieving and that I shop here due to necessity because the poor customer service mixed with the nasty attitudes and racial profiling is out of hand and I did not appreciate being treated in this manner. As a result I was threatened by the one person working to not take my payment which is unprofessional and therefore I asked for management and but was given more threats and smart remarks.
I felt bad the other day for the workers when witnessing a physical altercation with a customer but I now see why customers always have issues here. I only shop her due to necessity which is unfortunate for Dollar General sales. I wonder how many others do the same or simply choose to go to Dollar Tree or choose to drive further just to avoid the messy store, bad customer service, ignorance or negative atmosphere overall.
Word of advice - Everyone that shops isn't trying to steal and therefore should not be treated as such. Racial profiling is wrong and it would benefit individuals to pay attention to their customer base overall. Clean the store and stop pretending to work. If the store has a policy for effectiveness then it should be clearly stated, respectively adhered to and everyone treated the same.
They should fire everyone at this location and start again or just shut down and re-evaluate where to relocate the few employees after evaluating who actually does their job respectfully and effectively minus the negativity. This behavior trickles down from management and it causes businessesto lose money. It's most likely why there is a revolving door of employees at this location.
Sometimes long time employment for the wrong individuals gives them more authority mentally there for making them abusive towards customers, harmful towards businesses bottom line and potentially physically harmful toward others which I myself have witnessed at this store.
It's unfortunate to see such a decline in humanity given Ocean View is such a beautiful place to raise a family. Dollar General will no longer receive my money and I will do my best to spread the word. Poor customer service and poor attitudes is the epitome of what a good business does not want to reflect yet it's reflected everywhere at this location.
Better Luck some where else!

Not only is the regular staff unorganized and stressed out to the max, the general manager messes with their work schedule without notice like a thief in the night and blames the employees for failing to show up. Don’t work for a store where the GENERAL MANAGER can’t even utilize their sole responsibility to communicate to the employees of the schedule. She will terminate you on behalf of her fault. She tried telling me the “tomorrow” meant Saturday because she scheduled me Saturday not thinking I had my own screenshots of the schedule before.

Things looked out of control in this store.. There was only one employee and I felt bad for her, she had to run to register every time someone wanted to check
out and in the meantime she was trying to arrange the goods between the aisles. Everything was everywhere... I wasn't able to figure out prices of most items.. There was no place to walk because the goods were everywhere.. and the thrash on the floor..

I shop here several times a week and tonight an employee was extremely out of line and rude.(always rude when i go in). Neither employee wears a name tag and refused to give managers name.

If you MUST grab something before heading home like laundry detergent or toilet paper this gets the job done but barely I am used to a disorganized dollar general and open bottles of soda or what not but today seeing a dozen eggs took me off guard I was pretty surprised The staff greeted me with the minimal hello as I checked out they offered just the bare minimum human communication. I felt as if I walked into a distopia or apocalyptic convenient store Last resort sureFirst choice never Also never buy eggs here at least o wouldn't trust it

I've shopped here several times in the past year and the shelf prices rarely match the register price. I have even took time to match the shelf bar code to the item and I still get over-charged at the register. Wading through inventory to shop is one thing, but over-charging for items at the register... who is getting that extra that customers are paying above the shelf price? Coffee on the shelf for $4.65, yet $5.00 at the register; Sponges for $1.00 on the shelf, yet $3.00 at the register; packing tape $3.50 on the shelf, yet $7.50 at the register??? Watch yourself shopping here!

Went in on feb 23. At 1pm. I was greetwd by 2 employees with a smile and friendly attitude. Aaked if i needed help witch i did. Swiftly helpted me find the item i needed and i was on my way. Thank you foe great customer service

This location had what I was looking for, but there were empty shelves everywhere. There were stock carts full of items blocking the aisles with nobody to stock the shelves. The cashier was very friendly though.
