This walmart on Tidewater Dr. is amazing. Whatever you want or are looking for, 9 times out of 10, they will have it. The staff are wonderful, and one in particular is one of the best staff they have, I would address her by her last name with Ms. preceding her last name if I knew it. It is so rare for a walmart associate to earn my most sincere respect in that manner.

I stopped into the Walmart on Tidewater and Little Creek in Norfolk VA on Wednesday of this week to pickup a few things after getting gas. I wasn't able to find everything but took my three items to the checkout and paid with my debit card so I could get cash-$20- for small Christmas gifts. Before I could tell the cashier I wanted 1 $10 and 2$5 dollar bill ( I had to bag my own purchases-they will not do it if you bring reusable bags) the cashier had put $20 and the receipt on the counter and closed her register. When I said I wanted a 10 &2. 5's she said she couldn't reopen the register and I should go to costumer service. I got to customer service and explained what I needed and was told they didn't make change. When I said I just got the money from the cashier & explained what had happened the lady at the counter (no name tag) called her supervisor Shenaqua (she did have a name tag) & asked if she could give me the change. This woman didn't even speak just huffed shook her head no, then turned her back to me. At that time the first woman said "Maybe I could go around and ask other customers to change the $20." I could understand them not wanting to change bills from people just walking in off the street, especially at this time of the year but I said I had the receipt that showed I had just checked out (approximately 2mins before) & that I had received the money from their own cashier. At that point both women had their backs to me. To make matters worse,when I got home I called the cooperate office's customer service department to report this situation. The person on the phone took the complaint and promised it would be escalated and the manager at that Walmart would call me within 48hours to discuss the situation. I'm still waiting for the call that I'm sure will never come but no matter because I'll only be shopping at TARGET from now on.

Yeah this place. Not only can you find everything you need there but you will also at times see everything that you wish you did not see. I am sure we all have heard of the site people of Wal Mart and I admit that it is a guilty pleasure that when I go I know I will see something where I should look away but feel compelled to watch still. Where else can you get your nails done, get some Subway, do your banking, prepare your taxes, wire money, all before you forget what you actually came in there for. On to my review. This WalMart I will say does an ok job of having items but what is unusual is that there is a WalMart Neighborhood market about three minutes down the street that seems to do a better job of keeping certain grocery items in stock. Don't understand it. I can find items there at the Neighborhood Market I cannot find it the this Super WalMart. The best part of this WalMart is that I will say about 90% of the time the self checkout system is working but when it goes down it goes down hard. Also, it would help that those using it actually know how to use it to keep the lines flowing as it defeats the whole purpose of a speedy checkout with the constant issues or asking "how do I do this" It is appreciated that they are trying to use technology to speed up and make the shopping process more convenient but that is only as good as the technology implemented and those willing to use it. If you need help finding something just use the app and it will point you to which aisle it is in. There seems to be more workers gathering items for online pickups than actually there to help customers who do it the old school way and actually come in the store. Plus many are too busy complaining out loud about working there to anyone willing to listen to offer assistance. I think many of us have come to accept what we will encounter here and I have had more good experiences than bad. This is especially true if you are just going to get some specific items and making an in and out trip.

The worst place to shop terrible customer service. They never have any lines open and if they do it is 1 little old lady doing all of it really slow. Stay away!

I am not a big of grocery shopping - So I decided to try out the online pick up grocery method. I downloaded the app and selected every item that I wanted and paid for it and selected a pick up time with the given options. The options were all in hour increments. I picked the 6-7 time frame. I received an email stating that my order was ready for pick up at 5:48. They also messaged me letting me know that one of the items that I selected was not in stock and it let me choose my own subsitution for it right away. I arrived and checked in and my order was out within 5-10 minutes.I will be using the online pick up method for grocery shopping moving forward.**Also, the pick up is free as long as your order is $35+

I walked into here looking to buy a camera and a tripod for it but once I got to the back and was checking the specs a worker I believe was named Kiki came up to me, accused me of stealing and called security on me. I was about to make a $400 purchase but I'm now heading to Target to get the same thing that I was looking for here. I would've spent those hundreds here but am now going to your competitor, Target, because of Walmart employees behavior. I was trying to give this specific Walmart another chance and my expectations were low but this is rock bottom.

What uses to be a fairly decent Wally World has now become a bottom of the barrel store with hardly any actual cashiers checking people out and half of the self-checkout registers are not even working. So what I mistakenly thought would be a quick store run turned into a jungle adventure.It's a hot summer day, but the lot isn't even crowded. I park next to a dilapidated cart rail because it's relatively close to the entrance. Unkempt!I quickly get the few items I need and head to the checkout. Two actual human being cashiers and a self-checkout line that's all the way out to the produce section of the store. Thankfully, the wait wasn't terribly long and I spent less than $20 on Gatorade, drinks and toilet paper. Will I be back? It's a toss up!

ZERO STARS WORST LOCATION DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE. So I guess they no longer do returns without receipts. Or at least this is what I was told. There was a man trying to do a return before me and he was asked for an ID. He left the store to get his ID so it was my turn. I tried to return 2 dresses and 3 shirts and I was told I couldn't with out a receipt. I told them i didn't want cash back I wanted a gift card cause I wanted to spend it in the store anyway. She said no again so I asked when the policy changed they couldn't tell me. I asked to speak to a manager never got one instead they sent another employee to tell me couldn't do the return so I asked for the corporate number and they told me to call (1800 Walmart) that isn't the corporate number. I had to look for it myself. So I walk around the store buy a few grocery items and as I'm being checked out I see the man returned to their service desk. So I walk back and asked him if they did the return for him and they did( keep in mind he didn't have a receipt). At that point the employees yell at me saying they could only return $50 worth of items. I was fine with that they didn't have to look at the bag and deny service. They could've scanned my stuff to see what the total was. DO BETTER!!! & just an FYI this store location is ALWAYS DIRTY and stinks. I used to always put up with it cause it was close to my house but now I drive to a different location.

The staff at Walmart are IDIOTS. No one in the store knows how to page for assistance, no one knows how to provide tax exempt for in-store purchases. I spend $300-400 weekly at this Walmart. This Walmart will not get another dime of my money.

Did a online delivery order. I'm from Las Vegas NV and was in town to visit my son for the Thanksgiving holiday. They delivered with in an hour. Walmart was out of a few things but other than that we got what we needed. Better then having to go shopping. We spent time visiting!

I called Walmart at Tidewater Dr to see if it was ok to bring up for an oil change. Person on the phone said yes. (Crystal) When I got there, what I witnessed was chaos. I'm sure some of it was a lack of staffing, but it appeared that there was enough staffing to accommodate the the people that were there. Techs are helping at the counter instead of managing the back half of the business. I may not have the full story, but I've worked and managed big box retail for over 30 years, something is broken in that department and I think it management / leadership. Note: The Clerk Crystal was great. The older white gentleman walked passed me 3-4 times and never said hello or that someone will be with me shortly. That's not a staffing issue. That's a training and an accountability issue.

I bought a bag of frozen french fries and a 2 liter at Walmart and the lady at the door had the nerves to receipt check me while other people were walking out with full carts of groceries. Another customer told me to just walk off so I did. But I was about to go the hell off on her.

Went in on a whim to get my son a baseball. They had it of course. They had a lot of stuff in stock. We got what we were looking for for a bday party. They only had about 4 lines open, but our cashier moved really fast. We were really in & out. Location was clean.
