this message to Shelly M. Your review is so shitty and you are so picky and I cannot stand you. Sorry you had a bad experience due to Covid. A lot of places are lacking help due to Covid, so why don't you sit your picky ass at home I love the store. I've been going here cents. It was the first original store before this one 38 years you're just a jerk and probably one those people that you cannot please take this review and shove it right in your bunghole.

Great service, great selection! Fresh and locally sourced ingredients in the deli make this a great stop for lunch! Also very convenient fuel pumps and a great place to drop in for a quick cup of coffee anytime!

Wow! Came across this gem of a store on my travels. Its super clean, very well organized and has a warm atmosphere. The staff was friendly helpful and very responsive and helpful. When I told them mens room was out of paper towels, immediately they responded and replaced them before the next person entered the mens room. Their customer service was outstanding. Next time I'm in the area I will go out of my way to stop here and so should you. Well done!!

"best fried chicken in the county"

Passing through the area and we just so happen to find this place on Waze. This is hands down the best fried chicken I have had in a long time. And this biscuits are mind boggling good. I had seconds on the biscuits and I if I licked my fingers any louder they would have asked me to leave. They have some interesting sodas, and this fixings look delicious. If you try some let me know. People behind the counter are very nice. This is truly a gem. The chicken is slap your momma good. And the biscuits make you want to have a word with your grandma.

Where do I begin...I suppose the biggest glaring issue that now stands with this establishment is that they can't seem to keep help. The store is constantly closed, and it hasn't JUST been on Sundays. I've been here 3 times in the past few weeks and the store has been closed. The pump refuses to take my debit card, so I can't even purchase gas from here after hours. The few times I've been able to come inside in the past 3 months were terrible. The lines are always long. It took me almost 30 minutes to get out last time. Not to mention, if you want food from this place you have to wait in line 3 times. One to choose your food at the back counter. Another to pay at the front register, no food in hand because it is being guarded at the food counter. Then three, you have to get back in line with a receipt at the food counter in the back to get your food. Meanwhile, you're stuck in line behind people who are placing new orders again. Very stupid process. So I just never buy food from here anymore, it is a major waste of time- beyond ridiculous. I called the store and left a message about this, and how super inconvenient it is and how much time it takes to get out of here. Nobody seemed concerned. This place used to be a lot better, one of my favorite stores because it has a lot of interesting items. But I simply can't stand going here anymore. I've had a couple encounters with rude staff who were too rushed to pay attention and help me. One of them even cocked an attitude with me at the food counter, I was shocked. Bought fudge from up front and the two girls working the register that day were insanely rude, and it was like pulling teeth to get them to help me. They seemed rather content doing nothing behind the counter, taking about boys and slouching on stools, too lazy to stand. They seemed very inconvenienced when I asked for help. Gas is always expensive here anyway, higher than other stations all around it. Just avoid this place unless you like waiting all day for rude service.

A great place to stop at to grab hot food, subs, sweets, homemade baked goods, and souvenirs. Got some friend chicken to go for camping and few desserts.

I love this place. I can't count how many times I've stopped here, even if it was just to pee. 1. I love the fudge. My brother did too and him ordering some is one of my last memories of him. 2. I love the food counter with it's fried chicken and Southern sides and especially, especially, especially, the desserts: cannoli and cheesecake, carrot cake and something called unicorn cake. It's always fun and so hard to choose. 3. I love the local wine and beer selection. 4. I love the dry little grocery area with the quirky dry goods. 5. I love that it's a cozy place to stop to eat and rest on your travels along 29. 6. I love the cute hats and other gifts and the random antiques that adorn the store. 7. I love the boot scrape outside. 8. I love that it feels like it's been there forever and it always will be. 9. I love always wondering what's upstairs. 10. I love that it's right next door to Dr. Ho's.

Pretty good friend chicken but unfortunately they sell confederate flag memorabilia. With symbols of hate and racism for sale I have to give them 1 star.

My husband and I are obsessed with fried chicken. I have tried 100 different fried chicken dishes and crossroads has the absolute best fried chicken I have ever tried. We make it a weekly affair in our home.

I like the chicken and the honey biscuits, bummed they got rid of the extreme caffeine cappuccino! I loved getting this on the way to Charlottesville it was yummy and I was able to skip Starbucks that day if I got one. The owner recommended this yummy margarita mix and it's been a hit every time I take it anywhere. They have all kinds of candies and fudge and little bit of an old country store. Always over the years had great staff. I don't get my gas here since I do Kroger points and because gas is a little cheaper in each directions not 5 miles on 29. Nice place to grab few needs with out having to go all the way into Charlottesville

Stopped and paid a good amount of money for a 64oz jug of "Apple Cider". You know.... "tourist prices". Get home a few days later and settle in for a nice glass of cider. It's not cider. Everyone said it tasted only like apple juice. Check the label. On the right side it says "Apple Juice (reconstituted with water)". Not only is it not cider, but it's literally just frozen apple juice with water added. Although the label says "Apple Cider" and yes, Apple cider is made from apple juice, this is clearly false advertising.

The employees here are super friendly. The food is solid and they have a selection of chicken, sides, pies, and cakes. They also have local wines and salsas and pickles, along with anything else you could want from a gas station. There's a sitting area if you want to stay and dine in. This is always a pleasurable place to stop and we're lucky to have them in the rural community.
