Positive: multiple locations, lots of instruments and gear - specifically for my guitar player. Depending on who is working you can have a great experience (I've had a few for sure!).Negative: I used the website to find a rental violin for my third grader in September. It said there were some available so I went to Oakton to do the paperwork in person. Unfortunately they didn't have one and the person working that Thurs evening was rude and completely unhelpful. I ended up going with another company.

Adam was very knowledgeable and was so enthusiastic about sharing said knowledge! I walked away with a new instrument after he answered about fifty questions. You can tell he loves music :)Shout-out to Tama (I think that was their name) with the sick Kirby swag!Loved the cozy feel of the store as well.

Adam and everyone at the store were WONDERFUL to workwith. I highly recommend them for your instrument needs. Went in looking for a higher level trumpet for our college bound daughter (in the next few years) for trumpet. Adam is a true asset to the company. I hope his bosses know this.

Whoever is the new manager at this store was extremely rude to visitors. The employees working there were also visibly under a lot of stress. Time for another try on management. Won't go back until he's gone.

Save your money and run away! This is the worst experience ever. After we received a call to pickup our instrument we arrived to the store and told that we were not in their system. 30 minutes later and we find the order only to be told that the instrument is not available and won't be for another 2 weeks minimum. Called customer service and 3hours later the call disconnects. How is this even a legitimate business? I found a number on my credit card provider (yes they charged me and I received nothing) and called to find out it is actually another store and that they have been trying for months to remove their number from the CC provider. They said sorry, they can't do anything and I asked what I could do. I was told to call the customer service number that no one answers because they just switched from a 3rd party call center to in-house and no one can answer the phone. Trust me and save yourselves the headache, this is a DISASTER!

Lets you walk in and play their pianos without paying for anything. So 5 stars for being one of the only somewhat pro-social places in all of Oakton.

I went to Music & Arts in Oakton, VA on December 20, 2022, to purchase some guitar strings, and to look at the inventory of Taylor acoustic guitars that were featured on the companies' website. This was my first time visiting this particular business. I was the only customer in the store and the employee (Stephen C) was sitting behind the counter, appearing to be doing nothing. I quickly noticed that the Taylor guitars I came to examine were nowhere to be found, at which time the employee informed me that all of the high-end acoustic and electric guitars are only available online. The gauge of strings I was looking for was not on the shelf, and when I asked the employee if the store had more in stock he simply answered, "I don't know." Now becoming slightly annoyed, I asked him if the store intended to order the particular gauge that I was looking for, at which time he again answered, "I don't know." At this point, I asked if he would mind checking on his computer. He never did give me an answer. Settling for two sets of different gauge strings, each hanging on a hook that was clearly marked $6.99 each, I headed toward the register. The employee proceeded to ring up my purchase and I then noticed that he had charged me $7.99 each for the strings. When I told him that the strings were clearly marked $6.99 on the rack he stated, "Oh, sorry, those prices are supposed to be changed." Thinking that he would honor the listed price, since the strings were, in fact, hanging on the correct hook, he insisted on charging me $7.99. By this point I was thoroughly disgusted with the store, and the customer service I was receiving. Wishing to avoid having to drive all the way over to Guitar Center in Fairfax, I reluctantly paid the additional cost and left the store unsatisfied. I will NEVER return.

Extremely knowledgeable staff and A+ customer service. I've been a customer through three high-school band students and a now-college-aged music major child which means many trips to a music store. Whether it's sheet music, renting or buying instruments, repairs and yearly service, or random accessories, they've been easy to deal with and are always helpful. I have been to a number of stores here and near the college and I will keep coming back to Music and Arts.

Confirmed twice for my son's guitar class with Peter today, they even sent me reminder for class timing today. However, when we came at the store, they said my son's spot is given to a different kid that Peter's mom knows. Very unprofessional shop and staffs

I bought a cello for my son and used to rent an instrument from them. Their staff is always helpful and their current store manager has been working there for a few years and is the most helpful.

I wish I found the store sooner. We have two doing piano and one doing violin. The store is fantastic and has everything you need whether you're a season musician or a novice. Highly recommend the store and lessons!
