A very nice place to stretch your legs and see the actual fish raising operations. A nice young man explained the facility to us and provided some nuggets to feed the fish (there is a quarter machine but non of us had one). Near the town of Paint Bank, VA.
March 2025
3rd week of March; ALL the runs were full of various fish. Babies, rainbow trout, Brown trout. I think I saw Tiger trout. Bring a quarter so you can feed them pellets!

This fish hatchery was a fun stop on our road trip. You can see multiple species of trout at every stage of their lifecycle and feed them if you have a quarter for the machine. The DWR staff onsite were friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to answer our questions.
