I've been a customer for a number of years now. In the beginning it was great, I could get in contact with them whenever I had a question. Not now. Every phone number I find for them runs me through some type of sales pitch for insurance or a free gift card or something I'm not interested in as I'm trying to get ahold of someone in the office to find out why my invoice is $20 higher than I was expecting it to be for next month, as I already was aware that I had an additional $18 on it from this months rent increase that I wasn't made aware of prior to the beginning of the month. I receive my invoices every month but as I'm sure, most people do, I haven't always checked them as I never received notifications of a price increase. Now, I'm doing my due diligence and I'm going to be checking each one when it comes in. The phone number on the invoice, on the website, and even when I do a web search DO NOT get a number that works to get you in contact with this company.

We rented a larger unit.

This is not Mr. Burns storage facility anymore. There is no one on the property EVER. You can't get anyone on the phone and when you do they're in another state. Their new name 'LocalStorage' is hilarious because they absolutely aren't local. Everyone is leaving for the new units on 600.

The storage units are not the problem honestly. I just hate having to deal with people no where near me if I have a problem or question. I've got to call an 800 number and PRAY that they will get my message to the storage unit management. I've had it take days for a call back and that's just not good customer service. I've never seen anyone at the office at the storage unit facility. A nearby business told us that they would, at times, see someone there but not often. The only number that's offered on the exterior of their office building is the 800 number to someone in tembucktoo. So never any immediate help with anything. I just REALLY don't care for this form of set up and customer support. When I was trying to actually secure a storage unit I called the number to find a unit but was hung up on twice and learned later that I was given two different units at 2 different facilities. I had to drive around to find out which facility was the RIGHT facility!!! However, there wasn't anyone at either facility to go to with my questions. It was SO DARN FRUSTRATING!!! I just don't know where good customer service went!!!

Were you happy here with the local self-storage of Fluvanna? Because they had availability, they had both environmentally controlled and then just regular storage areas, store regular ones, or more affordable. The reason I rated this four instead of five is because it's pretty hard to get the information about the terms of the lease. It turns out that they're very understandable and reasonable, but when you check it online, it sounds like you're signing away your life to the devil. So recommend good place. Not great. Others are a little more affordable, but this had availability

One of the strong points of the previous ownership/management was strong on-site presence. The new, mega owners have reversed this policy and the results are strongly contributory against renting. Calls for assistance/information are disregarded or slow in response. If not on automatic payment (no cash accepted) computerized billing is a nightmare.Although when I was still able to catch the local manager on site he told me the company kept no card information on file. I was therefore surprised when a subsequent partial payment was completed to the full amount without my authorization. Night security lighting has gone for extended times without attention to outages. If you have an expectation of reasonable responsive service I would recommend against Local Storage. Bigger isn't always better.

My family has used fluvanna self storage several time and has never encountered any issues with them! The rates are competitive and the people who work there are very kind! I would highly suggest this company for any of your moving / storage needs
