Not bad at all. They were under construction ? ? so the hallways were dirty but the room was nice and was missing the couch which was kinda of weird lol but it was still good.

Currently staying here now. If you get the opportunity, please look elsewhere. For my Military people. I TDY pretty often. Never have I ever received such horrible hospitality. I am on day 30 of 42 and I can’t wait to leave this trash hole. Not only has room service only came once a week to give me fresh towels, rags, change my sheets, etc. I have had to beg for items. Tonight was the last straw. I came to simply take a bath. This is what came out. The manager explained that construction was in the mix and that I should just run it until it stopped looking like a cesspool. Here we are 30 min later and I am next door taking a shower at another hotel. Again, not just my military personnel but almost EVERYONE should steer clear of this place.

CUSTOMER SERVICE! Once upon a time, the customer was always right. This wasn’t about a power play or if the customer was actually IN the right…it was a model that was used in most businesses which realized that without the customer: they are not in business! I want to officially give Hampton Inn Petersburg VA a 10-star review (even though max allowed is 5) because they have honored this tried and true, age-old philosophy about the customer. 6 MONTHS ago, I inadvertently left an important item at the hotel. I called when I arrived home and asked how I could claim the item from 5 states away. They had a procedure that wouldn’t work for me, no matter how many times I tried on the website. I asked if they would hold my item until I could pass through this part of VA, which may be 7 months later. The staff member said it would be held for me. Like clockwork: 7 MONTHS later, I showed up, and even though lost and found was very recently purged, my item was held with my name on it - AS PROMISED! I couldn’t be more surprised, in the greatest of ways!!! Thank you Hampton Inn…. For reinforcing my faith in the age-old, tried and true CUSTOMER SERVICE. 10 STARS!!!! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️Noteworthy details: See review above

Their site states pet friendly so I booked a room. 2 adults, 2 cats.. I called just to confirm, thank God, & much to my surprise they don't allow pets. Why would this be on their site when they don't allow. Bad business.

One star is generous.We were greeted by the world's most unhappy employee after a midnight checkin. Unprofessional, rude and messy. She glared and said to "wait five" minutes because of night audit. Why weren't our keys prepared ahead of time? Such a pleasant thing to say after a five hour drive. My kid says "mommy she looks miserable." Great observation.The worst parts....The room was atrocious! It had a faint smell of urine, sweat and mold.Here's a summary of the horrific conditions:Cracks in the wallsRun down faded out carpet, dingyDirty pillowsDirty pillow cases with black marksUnkempt presentation of the bedsBed made in a haphazard mannerOld creaky mattress seemed from 1970Box spring plastic ripped and sticking outPillows so old they had lumps Molded bathroom fixtures A used razor inside the closet floorWater drip stains on the picture framesBarely working a/c pumping toxic airTHE GRAND PRIZE:A fire alarm covered in a plastic bag on the ceiling! Black mold surrounding it. Um, isn't that a fire hazard? What in the world? It was like walking into an apocalypse, not a Hampton Inn. The prices were unreasonable too. Why is this place operational?They offered free breakfast, ha! Who would dare eat there? Don't believe me? Check out the photos.

I chose this hotel as it is approx 1/2 way on our drive back from SC to NJ. The location is not too far off of 95 so that was good.Staff was AMAZING! While the other Hampton Inn I just stayed at in SC only gave us 2 bottled waters and one choice of snack for our party of 4, this one gave each of us a bottled water and snacks! We were floored. Lol! The Hampton Inn in SC even gave guests a threatening note saying you only get 2 bottles of water for your entire stay so don’t ask for more. As a Hilton honors member I appreciate the free water and snacks and when staff is kind and generous with it, it makes it even better. The hotel is being renovated so it looks a little worn in areas and much to my children’s chagrin the pool is closed due to construction. I love my Hilton honors because no matter where I travel my Hilton hotel room always feels familiar and predictable. (When it comes to hotels, predictable is a good thing!!!) the room was clean with plenty of lights, outlets, a large fridge with icebox, coffee maker, dryer, microwave and lots of drawers (something the SC Hampton Inn didn’t have!)Rooms: Comfy, clean, needs updating but it looks like they are sprucing up.Food & drinks: Continental Breakfast was great but hard to pass up all the local eateries to eat here. The fare offered eggs, sausage. Oatmeal, a choice of cereals, white sliced bread, wheat sliced bread and plain bagels as well as a variety of muffins, a Belgian waffle machine and coffee and tea station and a juice station. It was filling and tasty.Noteworthy details: As of 8/18 the pool is closed. If you need a pool, call before booking.

Super overpriced for the quality. The hotel is heavily under construction, with outdated rooms and interiors. Only one elevator working and the ice machine down on the 4th floor. The location is right off 95 and the only reason we stayed there.

Dirty room. Smelled musty, carpet was stained, bed linens had stains/ hair. Bed was hard as a rock. Will not stay again.

Great customer service. Jocelyn was very kind to myself and my friend staying at the hotel. Great cookies and juice of the day, I don't know any other Hilton that does that. Breakfast was really good.

The staff of this hotel was incredibly nice! I never had any issues with anyone whenever I had to approach the front desk!However, the housekeeping was tremendously lacking. I was there from 6/18/23-7/7/23 and housekeeping entered my room only twice… after I asked both times at the front desk if they could service my room the following day. I did have the “Do not disturb” door hanger on my door, but would take it down every 3 days or so as I would leave for my class in the morning thinking they’d service it that day. (It was only hanging on my door for about 1/2 of my stay, so they had ample opportunities to come in & clean.)Please see the list of notes I made regarding what was/was not done and the attached pictures which I took on 7/6/23, the eve of my checkout.Notes for housekeeping, 6/18-7/7:-dirty toilet-never vacuumed-never cleaned bathroom floor (my shoe prints are visible in the pictures showing it wasn’t cleaned)-never dusted (as seen on the tissue holder)-never changed bedding

The room was clean, but in my opinion, the room and exterior need to be modernized some. When I first came into the room, the shower was dripping because the water was left on. The front desk worker(s) were very kind and welcoming. Breakfast was limited, but it was enough for someone on the go.

I waited 20 minutes while the girl at the front desk was on the phone. When she got off the phone she informed me they didn't have any rooms. Seems like she could have stopped her call long enough to tell me that.

This hotel itself leaves a bit to be desired, but they are currently doing a renovation so that should help update it. The location was not ideal for me, BUT the staff (Jonathan and Joshua?) were outstanding. If it were not for their customer service skills, I would have rated this hotel overall as a 2 out of 5!

Shout out to Johnathan at the front desk. He was funny, fast and friendly.There were 4 of us and we booked for rooms. Two of our rooms were in very poor shape and the other two rooms were fine. We had cracks in the walls, bathtubs were in need of a strong. The carpeting was very well worn and stained. Not our typical Hampton inn experience.Definitely not worth $180 per night.Breakfast was less than the usual. Oatmeal was total mush.
