December 2022 by Brian Brown
When I arrived at 9:35am on Friday, December 23rd no one was at the front window to take packages. It was closed even though it should be open.

Basically a trailer in a parking lot... but unexpectedly pretty clean inside. Although, it was tidy, this government facility could use a spruce and deserves a nicer building imo. It's aged and dated and rusty. No passport service; but they offer the basics for this basic post office. Port Royal is a tiny town just off Route 301 near the intersection of Route 17 crossing the Rappahannock River and was an important tobacco export point. It's one of the oldest colonial settlements dating back to 1652. The population is only about 150 people and its total area is about .75 miles so don't blink when you pass through! But, you've gotta love the government established postal system for catering to these obscure little towns!M-F 9:15-4:15Sat. 8-12Closed for lunch M-F 1:00-2:00

This post office has been beyond helpful. The lady that works at the counter has always tried to expedite all mailings. They delivered our Xmas packages in a matter of a couple of days.

I dropped off two packages, with prepaid labels around December 15th. Both packages have been lost. I am extremely furious and will give a bad review to everyone I meet about this horrible post office. Horrible customer service, horrible business practices.
