I give the hospital FIVE stars because they saved my unborn child, and not by anything they were doing, but because God said, “my child and her child will not die today.” I was the FIRST pregnant woman in their ICU and I almost died because of it. I had severe sepsis, ARDS, multi-organ failure, and entered renal failure the day I had a salvage c-section and I lived. I lived to tell the story of my near death experience and to any female who feels the VA won’t listen to them. This hospital nearly killed me and my baby, and the doctor responsible is STILL practicing as an OBGYN in MS because he couldn’t be sued and neither could this hospital when it happened. My daughter has neurological developmental disorders and learning disabilities because she was born at 31-weeks. I have neurocognitive disorders, neurocognitive communication deficits from brain damage. This hospital almost killed ME and my UNBORN child, and I can’t get any disability from the VA because they claim there isn’t any proof that any of this happened at this hospital. Tell that to my unemployability and my mental health because I am suffering. Don’t go here if you can go anywhere else!!!!!!!

0/5 Out of the military now but wish I never went to this hospital! Had a surgery that several doctors said I had to have but years later dealing with so many complications for a surgery I was told would not change anything. The next doctor said sorry they shouldn't of told you that. Didn't do any good because can't undo a surgery! Thanks! Just remember all doctors get paid or promoted to do surgeries. Emergency room was a nightmare since I had to visit a bunch of times after the surgery because of the incompetent doctor!

I’ve written a review here, but it appears to have been erased..? I may not need to add to the voices of traumatized women who have given birth at this hospital, as there are many, but I think it’s important for women to have all the information they can to make a decision. Going into detail would be extensive, so I’ll just say, I felt like I was in jail at this place. They lied to me, didn’t inform me of medicine they were putting in my IV, they were snippy when I asked if I was pushing right, and after birth care was a nightmare. I was threatened with another catheter before I’d had a chance to pee, I was ignored when I was in pain, they pricked my baby’s foot because he was too tired to nurse and no one could wake him up, they acted like I had no say over anything. The night nurse came in and took him when she thought I was asleep, then opened the blinds on my door to “‘make sure you don’t sleep with him,” when I hadn’t been and had no intent to. Everyone operated as if it were a factory and my child and I were merely machines, where they do the same thing with each person or piece of equipment, quickly and emotionlessly and you are a bad parent to question any of it. There is more and too much to tell. I couldn’t have imagined how terrible this experience was and I would never repeat it.

Went in tonight to have my fiancé seen and to be told there was a 4 hour wait time and then to be handed a pamphlet and to be told to think about the other places before coming here

I had a failed L4 to S1 spinal fusion here that lead to years of pain and the end of my career. From someone who cherished being in the military and lost everything due to a botched surgery that left me paralyzed and unable to walk for eight months, please never have a surgery done through the military. You have a right to see civilian doctors, exercise it.

2-6-2024. Attempting to inquire on status of prescription. Went thru an incredible mouse maze, then was disconnected. 2nd attempt also failed. Doctors should be able to send prescription directly to NAS Oceana pharmacy. Contractor operated system is totally unsatisfactory. CDR P.F. Mahoney USN (Ret).

I’ve never had a doctor who made me feel like me getting care was waste of his time or my injury wasn’t significant enough for him & compared his injury to mine and told me African Americans scar worse than any other race. Never again. Shameful

Parking in the garage is free and easy. The staff is reasonably friendly and relatively efficient. Just remember, it's Navy medicine so the Navy always comes first.

Tried to chop off my friend's arm due to an infection caused by the staff's negligence.

I had an appointment scheduled with radiology. I had to cancel because I woke up sick this morning. When I was transferred to the radiology department the man was very rude. I was raised to be polite to everyone, and I was polite to him despite his tone and “I couldn’t care less” attitude. He made it very obvious that he didn’t want to answer my questions. He said he couldn’t reschedule me an appointment right now, didn’t say why or if I needed to call somewhere else. Anytime I asked something he repeated “I can’t schedule you anything” and just sounded so annoyed. Then he hung up. I would have appreciated some guidance, not his piss poor attitude.

Everytime you come here it's a 4-8 hour wait before you are helped. There was a guy next to me with a finger nearly cut off, and they still made him check in and wait. For this to be an Emergency Room, this by far the worst one I've ever experienced in all of America. The people you check in with were and are always rude, the vitals people were nice. I've been here for 4 hours so far. They got our vitals, but now we gotta wait for the next 4 hours to be seen. If you come here bring a backpack, bring survival gear, bring entertainment, because you will be here forever. If you have a life threatening issue, call the ambulance instead.

The lack of leadership is present in this horrible representation of military medicine. From OB, Rx, to the ED... People working here are across the board rude and inept.. too concerned about their personal cell phone use than patient care. It's apparent the CO doesn't read ICE complaints or care about his military members or families. Shameless. Another neglect scandal in a military hospital...
