It’s so easy and convenient to drop off canned goods and food with a long shelf life. Just keep in mind the sign on the door refers to how they don’t accept clothing, and non- food items.

Getting them to answer the phone is like pulling teeth. Surprisingly they're the only organization in the city that has funds to help you out during your hardships. They're so overwhelmed that by the time they answer the phone all the funding is GONE!! SAD because there are families including mine really needed this funding and it seems like nobody really cares and it's a game to them.?

I CAN’T express how much I appreciate & respect the Salvation Army. This location has helped me time after time & in a quick manner. I’ve received so much help from them & I recommend anybody in need of help with food,bills, etc. to turn to them. I don’t know about other locations, but this one is excellent. So friendly & willing to help.

I’m disappointed in this Salvation Army location. My children attended this location for approximately 7 years. My children volunteered as needed and assisted with all community service and church functions. My children also became soldiers of the Salvation Army. Both are now in college. When asked; if there was any college scholarships provided for Salvation Army scholars my kids were given no information or guidance. We as a family never asked Salvation Army for any prior assistance. My children enjoyed the environment and simply helping others- I believe my children were not provided assistance due to being members of the Portsmouth location and social economic discrimination.

My mother was know as "the Bead Lady" and made numerous donations each month.Even simple meals, on occasion, for those workers / volunteers at the various public assistance organizations like The Salvation Army and numerous other food banksThe Salvation Army, as they have throughout their history, then ensured that those in need received these and all of the other donations provided, from your generous donations.Thank y'all for your assistance and all of those whom provided the means.

Called to comfirm they were open asked if they provide assistance with gas vouchers and was told they dont help with that. Then why does your website state otherwise

I'm in need of furniture and went on their website because google said they give furniture vouchers. No one seems to know what I'm talking about. You all need to take that down.
