Highly recommend! On short notice the GM, Rick, got me a slip and hooked me up with a needed mechanic. In and out in 3 business days. Wonderful staff, nice facilities, and convenient to the historic district of Portsmouth for fun outings. If the weather hadn’t been so cold I would have enjoyed staying longer.

Tidewater is a great Marina located on the Portsmouth side of the Elizabeth River across from DT Norfolk. For a small fee you can access all of their amenities if you're anchored at Hospital Point. The showers are modern and clean, and they have laundry facilities as well. It's a short walk to the High Street in Portsmouth which has a lot of cute shops and pubs.Rick, Jessa, Kathryn and Halley can help you with any information you need for heading through the ICW South, and are knowledgeable about the area.We prefer to anchor mostly so it's nice to find a place that is so welcoming to cruisers who don't want a slip.Fuel dock has gas and diesel.

The staff is helpful but the marina itself is very confusing to navigate. We had one vessel here and it took several wrong turns and a lot of walking just to find it.

We spent 5 nights on the hook out at the hospital point anchorage and used their dinghy dock and services. I've been to a lot of marinas and they are one of the best. They are conveniently located right next to the anchorage and even from the far end it only took me about 5 minutes to dinghy in. They have laundry and showers that you can use also they let you send packages to the office. Pretty much anything slip renters use so can you. Ill use this marina again, we love anchoring.Wandering in the Wind

I came through the ICW twice delivering boats to customers and I would stop after hours to get fuel. The first time I took on 1,000 gallons and met a girl named Sara who went above customer service to stay after hours and met at other location for fuel. Last month I contacted the marina again for the same thing and she was there once again to greet me. My wife and sara would sit and talk horses or talk about Sara daughter and how we admired her for being a single mother and still managing a full time job. Around 2:30 today I texted sara to ask if we could stop in for 800 gal before heading north. She informed me of the bad news and I instantly got angry for her. When she told me what happen I was blown away. She was the only reason we were returning customers. Every-time we spoke she was always very happy and quick to offer her help. We originally found out from dear friends who stay twice a year. We unfortunately will not be stopping in anymore for our fuel and we will spread the word to our dear friends who also admired Sara. If this is how employees are treated I can only imagine how customers are taken care of by the rest of staff. My prayers are with sara and her beautiful little girl. I’m happy we got to make a connection and talk about life with every passing through we did. As for tidewater management I’m sure they don’t feel bad about anything they have done. She was the best part of those two marinas. Hope we remain in contact so we can meet up again when I stop in at waterside in 2 weeks again.
