I came for help in saying goodbye to my English Mastiff rescue due to her health issues and age. There was so much kindness and consideration from everyone there. We were led to a comfortable room with a large dog bed on the floor, which I truly appreciated for my big girl. (I'd recommed some soothing music for that room and a few lamps for softer lighting.) The tech that assisted was so wonderful, kept us informed, checking on us alot and offering her heart at this difficult time. There was no rush for any part of the process. While this was so incredibly hard for me, Blue Ridge Vet made the process much easier. I was so impressed with them, and even though it's a hike to get there, I will now make them my new doctor for my new English Mastiff rescue and any future dog. Thank you to everyone - the receptionist, the tech and the doctor that helped me and my dog(sorry I did not note your names.)

I called and they don’t have a vet on site. Very misleading! They may be “open”, but if they don’t have a vet on site, they can’t take you in! They’re not a real emergency clinic! I have to drive 40 minutes to Winchester instead!

I cannot say enough amazing things about Blue Ridge Veterinary Associates! I took my sweet girl to her first appointment there today. I called the day before & booked an appointment, and got in the next day! so rare at any vet! The front desk staff was so kind & I can’t begin to express how amazing Dr. Jones and her vet tech were. They were so kind & loving to my 8 month pup. It was so obvious that they genuinely care about your pets. Dr. Jones eased my mind about so many things & gave me such valuable insight. If you are looking for a vet for your fur baby don’t hesitate to choose Blue Ridge. I am so happy I finally found a vet I can trust & I know my girl is too!! Thank you Dr. Jones!!

Our bullmastiff died on a Sunday, and this was the nearest open vet. I called Blue Ridge and asked if they could take his body for aftercare, and they said yes. We let them know we were on our way and would be there in about 30 minutes. We got there and they had us stand around and wait for another 30 minutes. They were not slammed, there were clearly staff hanging around. We were waiting outside crying with our dead dog, and they made us feel like a nuisance.A vet tech who told us she was “taking care of stuff on the computer” for I guess the 30 minutes we were waiting came out with another tech to move him inside. We followed them in so we could hug our baby one last time. The staff stared at us like we didn’t belong there, but nobody would tell us what we were supposed to do. I even asked the vet tech “what next?” and she said “we’re gonna put him in a bag.” They can apologize for their vet tech saying something insensitive- actually really, really stupid- but they can’t give us back the dignity of the last moments we had with our dog. They can’t take back the fact that a bunch of their staff were standing around watching me hug my dead dog like I didn’t belong there. It just struck me as trash behavior towards grieving people.Their patient advocate went above and beyond to make it right for us, and I truly appreciate that, but within a few days I was getting multiple rude, borderline hostile messages from their accounts payable person. Apparently they don’t manage all the expenses from the crematory service they use, and I asked for an itemized invoice to understand what I’d already paid. You would think I’d spent months dodging payment from the messages I got from this lady.Anyway I haven’t really had a bad experience with a vet before. Our vets tend to love us because we love our animals and do our best to take great care of them, and we generally love our vets and their teams. So this is definitely one practice I will never use again.

We adopted (rescued) our dog and the neutering was done through the agency at BRV. I will tell you that I have never been treated so poorly. From calling to confirm appointment time and not being given any instruction for day of surgery. No update phone call as I was promised when the procedure was done. All said and done (afternoon shift) was so rude to me. “It's a policy to NOT speak to the pet owner. We only communicate with the rescue agency.” That should have been said to me when I called to confirm appointment time or at the drop off. Then all communication would have gone through HART. Who, by the way couldn’t have been nicer. It wasn’t the information that was given to me that was bothersome, it was the delivery. There was no need to be so condescending and short with me.Maybe they don’t need new clients. Because I will never step foot in there again.

Absolutely fantastic. Just moved to Eastern WV a couple weeks ago, and of course, for the first time in her 8 years of life, my canine ESA gets flea bites. At first I thought it was just her chronically dry skin acting up, so doubled her fish oil and gave her a bath. Then I actually saw a few fleas, so tried some OTC stuff and home remedies. But late Friday night I could tell she was in distress. I took a very deep look this time and almost cried. Lesions, bleeding scabs, inflammation, redness, lumps, swelling, hair loss, etc. I called every local vet I could find first thing Saturday morning. Everyone was either closed out couldn't see her. BRVA allowed me to drop her off as inpatient, meaning no appointment pseudo-emergency, for an additional 36 bucks; which is an amazing option to have and not a lot of expense for the privilege. I suspected my girl had a bad flea allergy, which was confirmed by the vet. She was ready to be picked up a lot sooner than expected, and her vet was extremely kind and patient with me on the phone while I asked every question I could possibly think of. The intake nurses(?) were also very sweet to my girl and personable. Really gave us a sense that the people there genuinely cared. I expected a massive (re: unpayable) bill when it was all said and done and was panicking trying to figure out how we would pay it. When I was given the total, I nearly fainted. Under 200 bucks for an emergency admission, on a weekend, for a new patient, first aid care, diagnosis, 2 prescriptions, a good amount of talking time with the diagnosing vet, a nail grooming, the two slip leads they used on her, and just generally fantastic service. This is her new regular vet from now on. As someone who is extremely attached to and reliant on their ESA, an emergent issue like flea bite dermatitis is a major panic and anxiety storm. Being able to get her quality care right away, and affordably, made all of the difference. She's healing up really well now, getting back to her old self, and I couldn't be happier. Thanks again, BRVA!

I am currently in litigation with Blue Ridge Veterinary Associates of Purceville, VA. Minutes after receiving treatment for an ear infection and taking medication prescribed, my then 8 year old Great Dane was fighting for his life in full GDV. Despite the fact Blue Ridge was his vet and is an emergency facility, they refused to follow up treatment and recommended I get him to an emergency vet. I was lucky to get him to Mountainview Animal Hospital in time and he survived the ordeal. No blood work was done nor were side effects of the steroid prescribed discussed with me at any time. Blue Ridge Veterinary has refused to acknowledge any wrongdoing, never even phoned or checked to see how Fenway was doing or if he survived. Not once. If anyone reading this post has had a similar experience with Blue Ridge Veterinary Associates please contact me.Fenway did survive and will be 11 in March.

WOW!! If you’re thinking of taking your animal to this veterinarian, think twice! And if you’re thinking about getting an echocardiogram here, don’t put yourself through the agony of the complete chaos of their unorganized ability to schedule an appointment.I had an 8 AM appointment for an echocardiogram with my cat. I brought him in at 7:50 AM, and they told me that they would need to keep him all day. WHY??? I have an 8 am appt. Which was moved from a 3pm appt because I was told to make my cat fast. (Why? You’re looking at his heart)I never heard of such such a thing. Why make a timed appointment with me, if your protocol is to pile animals in and be at the mercy of when you get to it. F THAT!They kept him for 3 1/2 hours and then called me and said the echocardiologist never showed up. It appears they have no communication with their echo cardiologist. If she was sick, or running late, perhaps you might call the client and give them the option to reschedule or cancel entirely. But nope, you couldn’t be bothered. You let my fasting little cat sit back there getting fleas and traumatized. FOR THREE HOURS!Also more importantly, I’ve noticed there’s no feeling of animal kindness here. Just a ‘give us all your money’ vibe. It’s Subpar treatment from top to bottom. Not a bit of professionalism, with no accountability and more importantly, no concept of actually laying out appointments for this kind of thing. You’ve lost a client with your epic display of stupidity and inability to act responsible for services you claim to provide. When looking for a professional vet, cross this one off the list immediately!I can say DR GREGORIE is a wonderful cat veterinarian. I hope you get out of that place and can be represented by a more professional and reputable outfit.

We have had nothing but great experiences at this office. We drive the 45 mins because they are caring and compassionate. Today we had to put our almost 14 yr old dog down and they were amazing to our family and accommodating. Thank you so much for taking great care of our animals and also being compassionate and supportive when needed.

DO NOT GO HERE. Dr. Campbell botched my dogs surgery and wouldn’t even talk to me about it.

This is for cat grooming. Leslie along with something called Kitty Magic work miracles! I highly recommend her. She makes our shelter cat look fancy shaving off all her matted fur. The cat is so mean we can't brush her and Leslie is the first groomer in 10 years to make our cat look like a piece of art!

BLUE RIDGE Vets.Purcellville, VirginiaI am overwhelmed with happiness by this Veterinarian's way of doing business compared to the numerous others that were contacted. They are straight forward, humble and are like no others, almost as if they are old friends verses going to an auto shop to have your car fixed. The others I almost had to refinance my home just to get at estimate on the overall costs and we considered having her put to sleep.Of course, until they opened up my baby (actually my daughter's dog) surgically, It could have gone either way...The outcome is better than I even imagined, After recovery time, Luna is now as healthy as when she was a puppy, I still own my home and she has a totally positive attitude about everything...!She is still as smart as ever and the only problem is, I still can't teach her to talk yet... lolTully TavaresCall 703Plumber.USAshburn, Va.

Just called over there for my future mother in law and was told that the vet was recommending going to another facility due to, “not having the proper equipment necessary to treat the animal.” Then we get transferred to the care team and are told that the vet there this evening is leaving at 9pm and isn’t taking on any new patients. So instead of just telling the truth up front they decided to LIE while we are trying to seek emergency treatment for her animal. Of course this is loudouns #1 vet hospital. What a complete joke. So if you want some where that will lie to you so that the vet on staff can go home when your animal is having an emergency call Blue Ridge.
