Lets be real. Its a Dollar Store. But it doesnt have to be this way. This location has a serious professionalism issues. Nearly every visit, the store smells strongly of marijuana, to the point that it’s impossible to ignore. The situation gets worse in the restroom, which reeks like a hotboxed break room rather than a public bathroom customers are expected to use.
This isn’t just unpleasant and it reflects a complete lack of management oversight (or rather it reveals their sub par character) and basic standards. A retail store should feel clean, neutral, and welcoming, not like employees are clocking in straight from a smoke session. The leadership (if you can call them that) in place here either doesn’t notice, doesn’t care, or is incapable of doing better, and it shows. If you have to visit you'll immediately understand why this store has so many negative reviews. They've earned them. Until regional management steps in and corrects what local leadership clearly cannot—or will not—this location will remain an embarrassment to the brand, a deterrent to families, and a textbook example of how negligence and incompetence drive customers straight out the door.

Store is dirty. A lot of restocking needed. Associates are rude. Apparently Allen can’t stand up to work the cash register. He would literally ring items up and immediately look at his phone. Two people in front of me told him thank you and he didn’t say a word. Don’t bother going to this store.

I use to come in this store only IF I ABSOLUTELY HAD TO. I really didn't care for the atmosphere. Every time I would ask where something was the man...who is ALWAYS at the register would tell where it's supposed to be and then say if you don't see it then we don't have it or out of it. NEVER ONCE offered to help me locate it.
NOW...I go in there before I go anywhere else FIRST. I've noticed the shelves are always neat and tidy on certain days. The one think I DISLIKE..is have 2 look through a ton of product on a shelf for over 5 minutes to see if what I want is there.
I have noticed this when a certain evening manager named Michelle works. Not only this..but for some reason this lady can not only tell you if the store has or does not have something..when product is always changing...BUT CAN TAKE U RIGHT TO IT.
As long as she is not in the middle of helping someone else..she will NEVER hesitate to show you where an item is or help you look for it.
Dollar Tree has NOW become my FAVORITE store. I NOW shop in there several times a week and ALWAYS end up spending more money than I should or buying what I don't need lol because I no longer get frustrated trying to find something.
MICHELLE IS A KEEPER!!!

I used to enjoy coming to this store when in town. The store is usually pretty decently stocked and I can usually find what I’m looking for. The low review is for the cashier working the day I went in. He was sweeping the floor and I kindly showed him I was ready to check out. His demeanor spoke volumes without words. I was a complete inconvenience even after apologizing for disrupting him (which I shouldn’t have to do, but simply out of courtesy). He wouldn’t say a word to me at checkout; a thanks for shopping here, have a good day, nothing. He simply acted annoyed. I will not be visiting this establishment again. If as a customer I’m an inconvenience to shop there, then I won’t.

I like this store. Correction; I did like this store. Over the last two years, my experiences were mostly good, but some were downright awful.Today, I realized I had over shopped my budget. So when I got to the register as someone was checking out, I was behind them and trying to remove a few things from my basket. It’s mortifying enough doing this in front of everyone because I can’t afford all the items I need. But every time I go to reach for items, the countertops slides closer and closer to the cashier and I’m unable to grab the things I need to grab from my basket . When I get to the cashier and tell him I’d like to put a few things back, he first told me it’s already on there, clearly displaying that she did not want to remove it and had no intentions on removing it, so I politely asked that he remove it again. He was visibly frustrated with my asking this and foul attitude was already showing. I continued to be polite and say that I was sorry, but there were a few things I wanted to remove from my basket, but was unable to do so due to the countertop sliding closer to him every time I reach in If there was anything I wanted to remove and I said yes, but I couldn’t get to my basket to show him because of the protective plastic they have hanging in front of the register. He began demanding that “next time I come…..”. I did not let him finish before I simply said never mind, I don’t want any of these items and I walked out. It’s mortifying, having to remove items from your basket because you can’t afford them. The cashier first refused to remove them, made a scene and third made demands of how I should be next time. I won’t be here again. This isn’t the first issue I’ve had, but I come back because I like the store,The last time I had an issue here I called the Management And they did nothing, so I won’t be calling Management this time. I simply won’t go there anymore. To be honest, the people working there are sketchy at best. I’ve seen some visibly intoxicated, And dealt with some that were just playing out weird. I see children there all the time, And if I were a parent, I wouldn’t be allowing my children in that store alone at all due to their sketchy employees. Well, I love having the store in Purcellville, I don’t know where the employees come from. Wish they’d go back there though

I have been coming to this dollar tree 2x a week for the past year. Overall, the shelves are typically stocked. The prices are displayed well and seems like a pretty clean store.
However, the gentlemen that works the day shift cashier position during the week is very rude. I’ve witnessed him get into verbal arguements with people over various reasonings. I’ve watched people leave their carts full because of his comments. I’m not sure if he struggles with communication or needs some extra guidance.
He’s very rude about the carts/buggies.
He’s rude about the bags, type of payment, people needing to use the restroom. I’ve witnessed it all.
Anywho, I now drive 25 minutes to a different dollar tree because I know he will be working. He’s pushing business out. I don’t typically leave reviews but this needs to addressed.
