This bank is now Atlantic Union Bank and I left because of the changes that they made in the merger. First, they gave me no benefits as a college student, despite having an account with them for over a decade. Second, the customer service was disheartening to begin with, but, after the merger, the employees frequently treated my family and me with disdain and were generally discourteous. Finally, and most importantly, this bank punished us for being a fixed income family. We would be charged monthly because our bank account balances weren't high enough for them. I recently received an email from Atlantic Union Bank with an invitation to reopen an account with them and "see the changes." Frankly, I'm not interested in the changes. I can assure you now, I will never go back to this bank and I will encourage all of my local friends and colleagues to avoid it.

The worst bank in the area - unfriendly and predatory.

What used to be a good local bank has been destroyed by Access National. We lost banking on Saturday, free checking, and customer support quality. Fees are the norm for everything now. The bank closes early, at 5. Now I received notice that to comply with government liquidity regulations the bank must create sub-savings accounts of checking accounts and automatically shuffle money between them. This doesn't give me much faith in the strength of the retail side of the bank anymore. Never heard of such an arrangement. Will be switching banks to another small local VA bank.

Tried to call for on-line banking support during business hours. Ha! Every part of the telephone tree said to leave a message and "they'll call back." It wouldn't even let the customer go on "hold." Who wants a bank that is that un-responsive? If you are a customer, I recommend you change your bank to save your sanity (and maybe your money too).

This used to be one of the best banks around. Friendly, helpful, and a real community bank. That is until one member of the board decided he wasn't rich enough and forced a sale to Access National Bank. Many of us who have had accounts there for decades were suddenly being charged fees for anything and everything you can imagine. It was a sad day when we closed our accounts and moved them to another bank. Local, community based banks are so hard to come by and even harder when you watch them die. I feel bad for the employees there. They used to always be smiling and friendly, now it is like they are just trying to get by. Put your money somewhere else, this isn't the Middleburg Bank it used to be!

Love Middleburg Bank. The customer service is the best and couldn't be happier with the Purcellville branch!

Always helpful and informative. Helped my small business when bigger banks would not even notice me. Carolyn Diprinzio, Leslie Johnson, Patti Yarborough and especially May Liz McCauley have been especially helpful!
