can't go wrong with a facility that has multiple lifts, every tool you can imagine, and a very knowledgeable staff to help you with your automotive needs - pair that with the best rental rates and you have a gem of a facility - should you need overnight storage for long term projects, they have that option too

Amazing staffs, very knowledgeable and ready to help at anytime. Also, it’s affordable and you’ll learn a new skill at the same time. I hope they don’t shut this down like others.

$10 an hour to have the peace of mind that you've put your own work into maintaining your vehicle? Absolutely priceless. Staff is friendly, helpful, and willing to teach at the drop of a hat. If you need something because you forgot it, they'll have it, or can order it usually with a same day turnaround.

Came in to change my brakes, not knowing how, and they were able to teach me how to do it myself

Behind these silver doors: Helpful staff, dealership level cleanliness and equipment. Great resource for DOD members and especially Marines!

This center is awesome and has an exceptional staff. They have all been closed on the joint bases in the NCR, leaving us at the mercy of dealers for $200-300 oil changes, because were are all apartment dwellers. Finding an adequately staffed, technically competent, and honest VW service center near DC is difficult and I have saved about 3K in the two years I've been doing my maintenance here.

As others have said, great on base shop. One of the best I’ve been to. Clean, tons of tools to use, super helpful staff. Hourly fees plus specialty tool fees but well worth it to do some work on your own.

Some staff are helpful. Others its seems their primary job is to look at their phones and watch others work. I asked one staff member to verify I had the ball joint press assembled correctly. He ran off and brought me back the manual. ? Their practice of only loaning out 5 tools at a time really increases the amount of time you will spend if you're doing a big job. That's why I saw many people there with their own tools. Perhaps that's what they want everyone to do? The tools they do have are shop worn. I couldn't get a sockets to stay on the air gun at all. This could be a safety issue. They're efficient in getting people in and out of the facility quickly as it stays busy on Saturdays. It would be nice if they were open on Sundays too. Recommend getting there before they open to secure a spot otherwise you may be waiting a while before you can get in.

The DoD needs to use this location as the minimum and expand on it as a model for facilities throughout the military, instead of closing them down in a display of irresponsible, poor decisions (Andrews, Belvoir, Myers).

Outstanding. Simply Outstanding.
If you're looking for a "real" Auto Skills center, consider making this one your "go to".
The staff is amazing, and always ready to help/train you on whatever you need to learn. I owe a lot of successes to them.
The facilities/tool availability are excellent, and well above expectations.
I believe - and could be wrong - that this the last "traditional" Auto Skills center in the DMV. I.e., one with a full-time knowledgeable staff, and all the tools/lifts you need to get the job done. I'm really hoping this one stays open.
