“Lisa Moore is the postmaster of this historic little gem of a post office in Clover, VA that's been around since the late 1800s, according to the postal worker I met. She said this building was considered a historic landmark and I love finding antique post offices! She showed me some postcards that were dated from 1903, and said that it was built years before that! It looks like it's been modernized but the brick facade shows it's age. The employee was super informative and helpful, she really went out of her way to chat! Although this building isn't remarkably beautiful or unique, it's background story earns it the 4 stars! It was well stocked and clean, but could've been a tad tidier. They had a good supply of various stamps, and for a small town of about 550 people, it was pretty busy! Clover was incorporated in 1895, but in 1998 it became "unincorporated" due to not being able to pay for the town's services. Businesses dwindled in this sleepy town, but it still remains a spot full of history, farms and plantations dating back to the 1700's! Check out the water tower near the post office! Hours: 7:45-11:45, 12:45-2:45 M-F Saturday 9:00-11:00”
