I've had my accounts with Charles Schwab since the early 90's and overall have been very happy with their services, HOWEVER, three times within the past month I have experienced unacceptable disruptions with my accounts. First was a scheduled bill pay- electronic payment that was never sent and I was never informed which resulted in a considerable late fee. Second, involved the transition of one account into a trust which included a hyphenated name adjustment. This was never discussed or noted during the paperwork process yet resulted in my account/funds being locked and unavailable for ATM withdrawal. Relatively easily fixed-after I discovered this incidentally and called the bank- by submitting additional paperwork. Patriot Act something I was told, which is fine, but TELL ME. Again, no communication to inform me of this issue. Third AND FINAL issue was today, when I was notified that a recent bill pay payment had been WITHDRAWN from the company I had paid. When I tried to access my bill pay thru Schwab it showed my account was frozen. I called Schwab who couldn't help me because their bill pay is actually handled by a 3rd party. I called the 3rd party company and has unable to find any way to speak to an actual person. The final automated message told me to contact my banking institution. Exactly where I started. Unacceptable lack of communication again from Schwab that resulted in another failure of scheduled payments with no valid reason or explanation. I no longer recommend Schwab for dependable banking services.

You guys really sucks. I came here at 3:55pm today. It took 50 minutes to get here and took another 15 minute to find parking place. There were two bankers but they closed the door just front of us(one more costumer arrived with me) one of the banker said their boss decided to close the bank due to the weather??? It is beautiful sunny typical summer weather not even that hot. What kind of bank closes with that stupid reason?? Shame on you the boss!!!It is definitely not trustworthy bank.

So you can easily withdraw cash from your accounts, but when it comes to depositing cash into your accounts they won't accept it, because they "don't handle any cash." I have both a checking account and an IRA with them. When I asked "okay. So where should I go instead?" they said that Charles Schwab doesn't handle any cash at all. The physical branch is basically completely pointless then, considering you can do everything else online.On top of that they wouldn't even pick up the phone when I called to try to get information before heading over. So the place neither picks up the phone, nor fulfills even the most basic functions of a financial and/or brokerage institution. I get that a lot of banks are online only, but even with USAA they have some locations where you can deposit cash.

Schwab rocks. You never have to wait on the phone long because an other branch will pick up and answer your questions. They are though on security. I forgot my verbal password and they are making me come in to update it, but I understand it. You can use you card & ATM in any country in the world no fees. Or if ATM fees apply at the foreign bank, Swab will reimburse you.

I have been completely satisfied with my Schwab experience these many years. I have opened a bank account and their platform allows easy management of my IRA, Brokerage Account and Bank Account. Could not be happier!
