April 2023 by J T
Have you experienced funds improperly withheld? You may have an ERISA violation, and Fidelity has done that to me. There must be others to justify a Class Action.I started this process in January 2022 and was told the monies would be released in 12 months. Then, Fidelity wanted me to fax documents a second time in January 2023. At that time, Fidelity wanted a court order clarifying my access to the plan funds, which I faxed on February 10, 2023. After numerous calls, I received a letter March 30, 2023 wanting an Election Form completed that was blocked so I could not complete. And, they also wanted the documents for a 3rd time.Get the picture?! It is now April, and still no decision. Yes, they assigned someone after I filed a written complaint of an ERISA violation but this person is simply trained to say "yes" without any action. The first released dollars are going to hire legal counsel to pursue an ERISA violation.' You should do the same--it is a pattern.

Terrible service at this location. They should close this branch until they are done with the renovation and fully staffed to provide at least decent level of service.

Fidelity Investments is most reputable for their website user interface and website features. But website excellence does not mean their financial analysts are excellent, too.In fact, Fidelity financial analysts or support staff are deplorable. And I can make that generalization because several were assigned to me.My most recent Fidelty analyst, from their Reston VA headquarters, lost interest in our online Zoom appointment, and said he wanted to go eat lunch if I am not going to buy any Fidelity services from him.In other words, their analysts or support staff are salespersons. They have no fiduciary duty to a Fidelity customer for giving financial advice. Their interest instead is limited to what Fidelity services they can sell to you.And they are rude about:"If you are going to waste my time, then I am going to go eat lunch."

Fidelity has good offerings for my needs, but one must carefully plan transfers between accounts, and ask a lot of questions (e.g., what problems might happen?). I encountered a potentially similar situation to the one Karen H. experienced, and I was just moving between Fidelity accounts. One would think that since the funds would all stay in Fidelity, the transfer could be done seamlessly; not so. Fortunately, I had some cash available so I could buy in one account and simultaneously sell in another, then move the resulting cash; repeated as needed.
