  A terrific promotion ($9.95) got me into the barber's chair. Mimi was a delight and gave a wonderful haircut at any price. The store was clean, bright and the stylists professional and friendly.

  We are new to the Reston area and it was hard to find somebody that cuts our hair the way we liked. Gladly, we found Mimi and Atlantis! Both did an amazing job and they actually listened to what we wanted. Definitely coming back!

  My family has been seeing Mimi since the shop opened! My son is 8 and she has been able to cut his hair the exact way he wants it, and my daughter is 5, Mimi always makes her feel pampered and helps her feel more confident with her curls! Mimi always has fun with my kids and does the nicest styles! She treats my kids as if they are her own, lots of love and giggles every time! She has been the only person who has been able to cut my hair (long & thick). My daughter was very happy with her hair today!

  Alanis, the manager, runs a great shop. She also cuts my hair. She always pays attention to my preferences, makes discrete — and always spot-on — suggestions, and does a GREAT job. I am very pleased with the results.

  I had a really disappointing experience here. After waiting patiently for about 40 minutes, I was told to wait another 20 minutes because they decided to skip me and take someone else instead. I get that the other customer had his kids waiting, and honestly, if they had just asked me politely, I would have understood and let it go.
  
  But the way it was handled—no explanation, no courtesy—just made me feel disrespected. It’s not that hard to communicate or ask nicely. Instead, it felt like they assumed I wouldn’t notice or care, which is frustrating after waiting so long.
  
  It’s not even about the extra wait; it’s about the lack of basic respect for a customer’s time. I really expected better and won’t be coming back.

  Just the typical Monday morning realisation that I wasn’t going to get to Los Angeles for a haircut…it’s the crazy things we say as transplants to Virginia 🤷🏻‍♀️
  
  I basically waited about a year to finally find someone in Reston. I also can tell you that you can spend hundreds of dollars and still get a horrible haircut. I hadn’t expected to get a top notch haircut from Alanis who did not judge me for not getting my haircut in about a year but instead gave me a fabulous haircut that made me realised I could have had a great hair style these last 10 months or so. Then again I would not have discovered Alanis. I read some of the reviews and had to chuckle, having a super friendly stylist doesn’t mean you will get a great hair style, Alanis is one of those gems who is super friendly, professional and knows what she is doing.
  
  I’m definitely coming back and you should visit Alanis and her colleagues!!!

  Let me just say, Mimi is great!! I’ve gotten my haircut twice by her and she doesn’t disappoint. I was only in Virginia for a short period to work and needed my hair trimmed. I wish I could take her back to South Carolina with me.

  Just had my hair cut by Mimi and she did a fantastic job. I usually just use clippers and cut my own hair. Every year or so, I grow it out and see what I can do with it. Mimi listened to what I had to say and did what I asked. Can’t ask for more. It looks great! Thank you Mimi!

  I got my haircut from Maya, who works at the Great Clips in Reston and Maya did an excellent job. I have grown my hairs long for the first time, so I was not sure how should I get my hairstyle. Maya was very polite, and gave me a perfect hair.
  
  I recommend Maya for those who have long straight hairs. And I would go there again.

  I asked that my hair be evened out and trimmed less than an inch. I said I wanted it below my ears. Instead, she took off much more in the back and then had to do the same on the sides. So my hair falls above my ear lobes! I told her one side was longer than the other but she said it wasn’t. Instead of arguing with her, I fixed it myself when I got home. There were also some longer pieces in back I had to even out.
  The only redeeming factor was there was no waiting when I got there. That should have been a hint.
  I won’t be back.
