I went to Michael’s June 8th right around opening time and grabbed my items and went to check out. I finished scanning everything then hit pay and it would load for a second then said payment failed. I tried it a few times before just canceling the transaction and it needs a sales associate to cancel it. There was a lady behind the counter filling up balloons and I told her what the machine was doing and asked if it was okay for me to move to another machine. She responded by saying “well sometimes you don’t need to cancel it you just need to let us do our thing” and I just looked at her because that seemed out of pocket. Turns out the card reader needed to be rebooted and she started the process and then told me how to tell when it was ready for me. I waited a few minutes until the reboot was done and clicked the pay button and it said “pin pad not connected”. I informed the same associate and she said “yeah because you need to let it reboot” I told her the screen was indicating it was done and she walked over and peaked at the screen to see that I was telling the truth then said “okay it’s ready” so I tried the button again and it still said it needed to be connected. The lady then tells me “okay well I’m going to have to cancel it and your going to have to use another one” in a very annoyed tone. It’s not my fault yalls machines don’t work and definitely not my fault that you don’t want to be there. I could have saved time by just going to another kiosk and never informing the sales associate of their broken machine. Very poor customer service, I felt like I was a burden just by shopping that early.

Insanely terrible customer service. I came in on a weeknight at the earliest I could after a long work day and needing to grab some things for a last minute wedding project for a friend. The store closed at 9 and I was sure to get there by 8:30 so I had time to do what I needed. Within seconds of walking in the store and several times over the next 15 minutes, there were multiple announcements over the speaker that all customers needed to come to the registers. I was so stressed the entire time because they kept making announcements as if it was an issue I was there so I decided to grab one more thing and drive 20 minutes to a Walmart to finish getting what I needed as to not cause any problems. The store clerks then turned off all of the lights in the one specific spot of the store I was looking in so that I could not even see or find what I needed to get. This was right before 8:50 so it’s not like I was there past closing. I dashed to the front right away thinking I must be holding up the cashier just waiting there for me so they could finish closing, only to find two employees sitting down outside of the aisles on their phones with only self-checkout available, which is fine but then why the gigantic rush? On top of Michael’s insanely high prices compared to Walmart and Amazon, will absolutely not be visiting this store ever again. The customer service has always been terrible but this was next level.

I’ve just had the worst experience at this location.I have been coming here for years and often spend lots of money because I run a business for kids. This experience was yesterday, Sunday. I went to buy spray paint. I needed black and silver. Once I took it to the register, I tried to self checkout myself, but had a $5 voucher that the register did not recognize. I then proceeded to go to the register that had staff. As I walk there, I see a Michael’ employee leaning, almost laying on the counter talking to another gal behind the register. I stand there a good while before I was greeted. I felt as if I was interrupting their social hour. I then explained my issue and the gals response was dismissive and unhelpful. I then used the more assertive tone and explained my situation. After a few minutes she understood. I payed, received my receipt and proceeded to leave the store. I then realized I picked up a wrong color thinking it was silver. I went back in and the same gals chitchatting near the register. I stated that I wanted to do an exchange for that color b/c I made a mistake. I was told because I used a voucher I can’t because it needs to be a return and the money would go back to me blah blah blah! I reiterated several times- “ I just want an even exchange for the right color” No, you can’t because……I’m sorry, what? I can’t exchange something I just purchased? What ludicrous policy is that??? I asked for a manager and told “ I AM the manager” ok, then provide me you Gen Manager’s info. We don’t have it. What???. I then ask for the district manager info. I then hear from the side “ look it up” by another employee. Excuse me? This is how you treat your customers? There was more and various unprofessional exchanges. I repeated again- I just want to exchange for the correct color. By this time I was livid. I did not raise my voice, but I definitely had a tone. In what world can you not do an exchange on an item just purchased? Insane policy, as well as HORRIBLE customer service. I felt as if I was disrupting their day. The rudest service I’ve ever received!

This was a quick shop. I had to get mini clothespins for a project at work. I looked for them online and was able to find them in the store as well. The store was very clean and organized. I didn't need to ask for help. Self-check out was a breeze as well.

The manager assisted me with a purchase. An old sale sign was still up, and I didn't realize it was old.. they honored the sale for me. It saved me a few dollars. I appreciate that a lot.
