“My child has been at the center since Jan 2023 after having attended one of the large corporate center in the area. We were looking for a smaller environment where the classrooms felt more at ease (as calm as a childcare center can be). We have been blown away by the center and their approach - our child has blossomed at the center in ways we hadn't see before. Overall, this has supported his social development and learning.Overall pros - the center maintains smaller class sizes but also stability in their teaching staff. This is consistent in that as long as the teacher isn't on vacation or out sick we consistently drop our child with the same teacher and pick up with a different teacher in his class. This has been a game changer compared to our previous experience. The only con is that since the center is smaller they don't have an app but the parents still get regular daily updates from the classroom about what the kids are doing and get tons of photos.”

“I can’t say enough good things about Hunters Woods Cooperative Preschool. The teachers are fantastic and really understand the age groups they work with. I’m amazed at the range of activities they plan for the students.I’ve also been very happy with the cooperative element of the preschool. It really becomes like your own little community. Parents are always willing to help with emergencies, taking care of each others kids,etc.I have two kids currently in the preschool and will send my third when he is eligible. I highly recommend this preschool to anyone who may be considering it for their child!”

This growth is particularly notable considering the disruption caused by the pandemic. Ideaventions excels at providing a challenging but supportive learning environment. “This is a fantastic early education center; the directors and teachers are awesome! Teachers know what they're doing, there are no unnecessary demands on parents and everyone is very flexible to accommodate the needs of families, especially working families. . We had a scary experience at another (popular/in-demand) school, after which KinderCare Lake Newport has been a refreshing and pleasant experience. I never have to worry that the school will be closed for random reasons. And they are open during several holidays means that I can use my day off to take care of chores, e.g., the days between Christmas and New Year. The building is surrounded by nature with ample outdoor play area which is a huge plus. My daughter is developing very well under the teachers here!”

“We moved to Reston 3 years ago and enrolled our 7 year old at Horizon Reston. We LOVE this daycare. Ms. Danielle, Mr. Tucker and Ms. Betty are the absolute best team! They are flexible, fun and our kid enjoys being there full time in the summer and for before and after school care during the year. 10/10 recommend!”

“My daughter has been at primrose for about a year and I have been very happy. The food is nutritious, school is clean, and the teachers are caring and sweet. My daughter was at home with an au pair prior to primrose, so there was some crying at drop off, but the teachers were always attentive and caring. Lastly, and best of all, they basically potty trained my child for me at 2 years old. This place is amazing!!!! She does art and learning activities on a daily basis. She can count to 20, knows her colors and can sing her abcs all at 2!”

Liz, Mimi and LJ are great leaders and did such an excellent job guiding the center through the pandemic. Most importantly .. our kids love this center!”

“Terraset is a relatively small but growing school, with a great sense of community and fantastic staff. The principal, Lindsay Trout, does an amazing job. The school is under renovation and once complete going to be a showpiece for Reston.The PTA is strong and very involved helping the school provide an exceptional experience for all students. I would like to see a larger percentage of parents involved and volunteering, but otherwise it's a great place to get your child's education started.”

“If Coach Charles was on Oprah’s radar, he’d be winning a car! He is so fantastic with not only our son but all the kids (all levels, all development stages mentally and physically). He has a unique way of keeping the classes fun and technical at the same time. He is very tuned in to his swimmers’ abilities to meet them where they are at —but push them to the next level. He is building life saving skills and confidence and passion for swim all at the same time. He’s incredibly nice and clearly knowledgeable of his craft. Charles is the gold standard for swim coaches everywhere. We couldn’t be happier!”

“Great center! Our older daughter has been coming here for two years. The teachers are really kind, patient and experienced. The kid is clean, happy and has learned so much in terms of vocabulary, manners and songs. There is no better manager than Cheryl anyone can ask for. She is knowledgeable of everything baby/toddler/kid-related and full of creative ideas on how to navigate our daughter’s “terrible two”. Now our younger one is scheduled to join soon, too.”
