My spouse and I have been clients since they opened the store over twenty years ago. First, the service is excellent, even when they get exceptionally busy, they work hard to interact with each customer. Their staff are wine and beer lovers themselves, therefore they are better prepared to assist in selecting a bottle of wine. Our visits to the store are more than ducking in to buy a bottle of wine, cheese, appetizers, soup, or a gift - it’s an experience. The folks there are more like family to us. Regular visits to the tastings (Thursday Night Open Bottle; Friday Night tastings, Saturday afternoon tastings, as well as past classes, and dinners) have allowed us to meet new people, make new friends, and hear some great wine stories. It’s a social experience for us. They are also family friendly including the doggos (the regular pups know about the treats).
You won’t find a Two Buck Chuck or Boone’s Farm Country Quencher (dating myself, I know), nor do they carry wines you can find next door at Giant, etc; they do try to meet clients at their price point. If you buy at one of the tastings they offer a discount on those wines. They also feature two craft beers every Friday night.
Another bonus to us is being able to support a local family owned business.

I just had an amazingly good experience with The Wine Cabinet. I called them shortly before Christmas to place an order for delivery before the holiday. Although they were already overbooked with pre-Christmas deliveries, Randy went above and beyond to figure out how to help me. It was as good a customer experience as I have ever had. This is local/small business at its finest. Shop here!

I've been a loyal customer of the Wine Cabinet for 17 years. The only way I can describe it, is as a gem tucked away in North Reston. Randy, Steve, and the rest of the staff are amazing. There's nothing in the store that isn't delicious. If you are buying your wine anywhere else you are missing the boat.

I love stopping by on Thursdays to try the wines on sale and get recommendations. If you sign up they will track what you buy so you can easily refer back to the good things you've bought before

Eh. I've been in here about 10 times and the service varies considerably. At times I've been treated well and people have helped me choose a wine for the occasion, explaining the difference between wines. However, on about 50% of my visits I have been either ignored completely, treated rather rudely, or somecombination. This doesn't seem to be based on how busy the store is- I've really only ever had one or two other customers in there at the same time I was in. I have no idea why, unless it is the difference in my apparel (work vs. casual). I left the other day knowing I won't be back. I can get good wine elsewhere without leaving feeling badly about the interaction. Too bad.

A cool little wine store right next to Reston Town Center. The staff are friendly and helpful. I love their tastings, it's often hard to really know what a good bottle of wine is worth the price until you taste it. I appreciate the way they organized their bottle (taste profiles vs. geographic region). Found a great Cinsault Rose from this team! Thank you.

This winery is fantastic! The service is outstanding. When you enter, you are greeted with the brightest welcome. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and have recommended outstanding wines to make all my events a success. I like that the owner is also present and will give you valuable information on any wine inquiry. If you live in or near Reston you MUST give them a visit
