Have been taking our three year old boys to gymnastics, soccer and basketball classes here. They seem to really enjoy the experience and they really like the coach. Front desk staff is always friendly and accommodating, too. Thanks!

YMCA RESTON is a wonderful facility. Great indoor pool with 6 lap lanes and large walk down ramp. Male and female locker room and separate saunas and steam rooms for each. Excellent locker rooms with built in locks and thoughtfully designed showers and dressing areas. Super nice staff, thank you, definitely worthy membership.

Pretty good facility. Much better than those in Richmond

The young woman at front desk on Monday mornings is extremely rude. Very condescending over a miss communication. Not sure about over staff but her attitude alone made me cancel my membership

Most of the staff are friendly but this gym is way too hot, especially in the summer. I don’t think they make the temperature in this gym tolerable at all and it’s one of the biggest reasons why I don’t like coming here anymore. Even if they save money for having the AC low-they lose more customers bc of it so is it really worth it? Also something minor but one of the machines has been out of service sign November 2024 with a sign that reads “will be fixed soon” lol

So clean and nice! One of my favorite YMCAs for when I’m traveling to DC.

LOOK FOR ANOTHER POOL AND HEALTH CLUB.
There are more options in the area that are so much better. However, the worst part is the irresponsible employees and substandard payment system. I put my membership on hold by an employee at the front desk. I knew that my family would be traveling and involved in other sports for 6 months. Then, close to the end of when I planned I would make my membership active again, I got a notice from Mony Suong Ly in the financial office that a draft did not go through. That is when I realized that they were still charging me for the 6 months I was to be on hold. I had recently closed that account to switch things around at my bank and change a few cards. If I had not done this, I may not have caught it. I emailed and asked for funds to be returned but was refused by Mony Suong Ly because she could not see it in the system. I am so disappointed in this YMCA .The facilities are below most others in the area and now, I see this “nonprofit “as a money grab. Yet, they still ask for donations!!!
Note: I just read through reviews. There seems to be a plethora of complaints about billing and claims by YMCA that they did not get information for cancelations and holds WOW, I wish I had known this. Maybe Fairfax Police Financial Crimes need to step in here.

Three stars, because there are good and poor experiences.
On the plus side: good equipment and good fitness classes with dedicated, nice trainers.
On the minus side: they cannot make the maintenance work. Here are three examples:
1. The men's sauna was inoperable for months. When they finally fixed it, the floor tile remained dirty. It still is dirty.
2. One stall in the men's shower was taped off and had an orange cone for many months.
3. Lockers have nice code locks, but many of these locks don't work. (I suspect they need new batteries.) Each time I have to check lockers to find one with an operable lock.
Maintenance is not a rocket science.

The most ridiculous Summer Camp for kids. We have a 6 year old that visits multiple summer camps throughout the area. From Karate to Ballet l. But this was one of the more expensive and at the same time the worst. Our daughter hated it and couldn’t wait to be picked up. Very poorly managed and run by a bunch of teenagers. Kids are just left sitting and drawing for 6-8 hours. No actual care or any sort of educational or fun activity. What a SHAME. DO NOT waste your time and money.

Amazing facility, not so amazing staff. I’m going for the gym, sauna, and pool, which are fabulous. I rarely interact with the staff, but it’s never particularly pleasant when I do.
A lifeguard was insistent that I was too young to be in the sauna and that I was under 15… I’m 22. Not sure why he felt a need to argue with me about that, but he gave up after a minute or so and left me be.
A front desk attendant all but screamed at me to come back and scan my pass again because it didn’t show up the first time. I did and she didn’t even make eye contact or say a word, just looked back at whatever she was doing on her computer screen. No confirmation that it went through or anything, she just pretended I wasn’t there.
I’d recommend the Y if you enjoy free weights, cardio, yoga, swimming, and sauna/steam rooms. I personally can’t attest to the classes offered nor the child care services, but from my interactions with the employees I wouldn’t be rushing to sign up.

Well it definitely is not a Christian organization. A girl just bullied me out of the club. Implied I was coming in free! I had enrolled there a year ago using what my Insurance provided under a Silver Sneaker program. The insurance made a deal with the Y for this to happen. I pay 650.00 mon for the insurance. I am sure the insurance paid them something maybe just not as much as they would like. Well black women approached me in the gym after a water aerobic class in the locker room! of all locations. Abruptly saying things that never happen about a conversation we had had. It was mean, as if she viewed me as sneaking in. Then ended with a , "Your not coming in free anymore". Implying that I was getting away with it. An insurance representative mention the program to me, and yes I gratefully took up on it. But was I getting away with something free -- I doubt it. The money came to them through a different avenue. And I am paying the insurance over $600.00 a month for this perk. Just a very nasty bitter person that has alot of insecurities to just slanderously bully seniors twice her age because she can. Shame that decent organization is hiring someone like that. Christian, absolutely not, but maybe it is with a new Trump like style of definition of lying and beating up on anyone just because he can. I left the locker room and two other ladies felt sorry for me, admitting they were coming in on their insurances. Apparently she was just targeting out me.

I called in this morning on a Saturday (yes, it was early) and spoke to Brian, one of the directors, and he hung up on me for following up on a scheduled interview. So rude and not interested in working for them anymore.

If Coach Charles was on Oprah’s radar, he’d be winning a car! He is so fantastic with not only our son but all the kids (all levels, all development stages mentally and physically). He has a unique way of keeping the classes fun and technical at the same time. He is very tuned in to his swimmers’ abilities to meet them where they are at —but push them to the next level. He is building life saving skills and confidence and passion for swim all at the same time. He’s incredibly nice and clearly knowledgeable of his craft. Charles is the gold standard for swim coaches everywhere. We couldn’t be happier!
