1 Prognosis: good2 Client Education: Discussed physical exam findings. Discussed heartworm test was negative todayso we administered proheart which is good for 6 months. Discussed flea/tick prevention, recommendedsimparica. O consented. P was positive for ehrlichia - chronic positive. Discussed that werecommended increasing Ps dose of traz and gaba ( in pp notes). P was not aggressive today, but whenwe got her out of the kennel to start her exam she panicked as i was listening to her heart, we weregently restraining by holding her leash and she was muzzled, and P jumped in the air and threw herselfdown on the ground violently and thrashed and slammed herself on the ground multiple times. Wewere able to get a blanket over her and restrain her, but she hit her lip, caused a small vessel in herright sclera to rupture and had several drops of blood tinged discharge from her nose. Werecommended higher doses of sedatives prior to vet visits. O agreed. This is the added note to my pups account.after this event, i refused to allow my babies to go in the back ALONE ! i requested to have in- room appointments ONLY . the vet tech agreed this would be better for everyone . 2/6/20223 i arrived for the in-room appointment that was made 2 week prior by a Banfield staff member !!!! ONLY to be told that this office does not allow in-room office visits due to a covid-19 policy. i then called the corporate line to fine out there is not such policy !!!!! OMG I was soooo mad !!! the store manger (Virginia) is uneducated in this line of work. she has placed me on hold for long wait times. still waiting on recorded request as of 2/7/20223

2/6/2024 6:34 PM Miscellaneous Home Care Instructions documented for this visit/hospitalization: (Reported by most recent date first) Date None Type Report ID: MedSummary.en.x Time Printed: 9:12 PM Osburn, V. 0677 Roanoke N Shortly after leaving, o called the hospital. I answered the call to help the front desk, and O had me on a 3 way call with OWP relations associate from corporate. The owner shared that she "came in for an appt and was told by associates that she could be seen in a room with both pets" She said Dr. Tarah told her this 6 months ago and the gentleman that talked to her to schedule also confirmed they were inroom appts. She then shared that she was told when she got in today that COVID policy does not allow us to do in room appts. The corporate associate then shared that "this is not a corporate policy and we can perform in-room appts" The owner then stated we "lied to her face". The owner then stated multiple times that we "refuse to see her pets appropriately and have charged her several times for other services". I then stated to O that as veterinary professionals treating patients, there must be trust between doctor and their client which is not present in this situation. I shared that verbally abusing staff is not tolerated. The "corporate associate" shared that as a practice we will be adjusting off her OWP for her troubles. I shared that ultimately that is my decision and based on all previous interactions including today's, we will be cancelling OWPs for Lillith and Mazikeen at our cost and she can seek care elsewhere where she can have a better client relationship. The owner then shared that she has gotten her pets back with bloody noses, bleeding lips, and busted eye vessels and will "gladly" take her pets elsewhere. She thanked the "corporate associate" and shared how much help she was. At this time, the "corporate associate" told the owner how it is her job to help her and shared her name and spelling. During this call, they were continuing to talk bad about my hospital, so I hung up. I immediately called Banfield Cares team and shared all information about case. They agreed based on all previous notes and interactions that discontinuing care is best. Adjusted off rest of OWP payments through CTSEnough said * this was the added note from my last visit. GLAD TO BE LEAVING

Good with my dogs I reckon but outrageously expensiveMy ten year old red bone coonhound just died two weeks after seeing them. He had a stroke and several seizures. I would have thought blood work would have known this was comming.I really just don't know what to think of these people anymore.

We left Banfield 6 months ago because they did not know what was going on. We went to a new vet only to discover that our dog had cancer and needed surgery. This is all due to the treatment she received at Banfield. We nearly lost her. Now I am forced to continue to pay for a health plan that I will never use because I don’t believe my dog received good care. IF YOU CARE FOR YOUR PET STAY AWAY FROM BANFIELD FACILITIES

We use this vet all the time but after today not sure if we will continue. Took both our dogs in today for a check up and a few shots. The lady at the desk said the price was going to be $246 and some change. My wife goes back to pick them up comes home and said it was over $500. The price is not a problem but that's a HUGE difference from what I was told. Then my wife needed to schedule a follow up and my wife said the lady was hesitant to tell her that one was going to be over $600. My wife said schedule it and the lady seemed surprised cause she said that and reiterated it was going to be $600. My wife said ok? Schedule it. I don't know but maybe they need someone up front who knows what they are talking about and confident in what they are saying and not assume someone cannot afford something. Our dogs together the 2 of them were over 10 grand. Don't assume! We def can afford it! BUT PLEASE know what prices you are giving before you give it.

I’ve had positive interactions with staff, but I’m going to be discontinuing my dog’s wellness plan and moving to a different Vet. 3.5 years in to COVID, but they are still using COVID as an excuse to not allow owners into pet appointments. I understand the severity of COVID & would be open to wearing a mask in appointments. Most other businesses (including my cat’s Vet) are seeing people in person. With a senior dog who’s health is only becoming more complicated, I need to be in the exam room with my dog so that I can ask questions and stay informed to keep him healthy and happy for as long as possible. Unfortunately, my cat’s Vet only sees cats so I’m not certain where I’ll be taking my dog - but for my dog’s sake, I won’t be continuing here.

We chose Banfield because of how good they are with our animals. I would highly recommend anybody that does not have insurance to give these people a try it is well worth it if you love your animals.
