Yes, it is trendy and hip but I question the value for money. Beware the $45 extra fee that appears only when you start the payment process. "Room Cleaning". It is 20% of the room price. So your seemingly reasonable price turns out to be overpriced ($275) for the features and amenities there. This will buy the Hotel Roanoke where the staff will actually stand up to greet you at reception. And they have free parking. Say something nice: Superb restaurant. Lovely craft furniture.

the hotel rooms are directly above a bar with blasting music. Good luck trying to sleep.

This review is long overdue. I loved everything about Fire Station One Boutique Hotel. The Txtur showroom itself is impressive, and the ambiance is upscale, yet laid back and relaxing. The artwork is absolutely beautiful, the décor is stunning, and the furniture is comfortable, stylish, and high quality. As for the accommodation, the rooms are beautifully decorated, I’m in love with the custom chandeliers, and it is without a doubt the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. The hotel pays tribute to it’s charming history, which can be found throughout the fire station. Spotlessly clean rooms with a great bar and restaurant downstairs, and a charming courtyard outside. The customer service was top-notch, and everyone treated me like family. Even though I was here for work, it was the perfect retreat at the end of each day. Very nice location to walk around and spend time exploring Roanoke, and there is a parking garage conveniently located next to the hotel. My only regret is not taking any photos or extending my stay for longer. Thank you for a wonderful stay; I’ll definitely be staying at Fire Station One again on my next trip to Roanoke.

Excellent hotel. My wife and daughter stayed here on our way back from Tennessee. I was so happy when I found this place, as a firefighter myself, this was such a neat concept and I love the history. The room was clean and check-in was a breeze with great email instructions. We chose room No.4, fire station themed, and it was nicely renovated and clean. The hotel is in a great area and within walking distance of downtown stores and restaurants. I would certainly stay here again, and we're already planning another trip back to Virginia in the future to see more sights as this was only a quick stop.

This was one of the coolest hotels I have stayed in. Great location and a really neat decor and theme. There is no front desk and no staff that I saw, but the rooms were well stocked with amenities and snacks (for free) with more available in a common area. The way the hotel blended into the furniture gallery and restaurant was really neat. This isn't the place for you if you want to see staff, but if you are okay with a virtual check in, this place is greatNearby activities: Right in the heart of downtown Roanoke, was able to walk to dozens of restaurants and cool small shopsWalkability: Downtown Roanoke area is very walking friendly. There are several blocks and a good sized park right near by

LOVE LOVE LOVE this hotel! I think this is quite possibly my most favorite place I have ever stayed at and I have traveled to 11 countries and all over the US. I have stayed at lots of all inclusive resorts and this room was by far the prettiest and most comfortable. The attention to detail starting from the restaurant to the furniture boutique and upstairs to the hotel is amazing! We dined in the restaurant and had outstanding service from Caroline and the food was equally as outstanding. The menu is chock full of creative and interesting flavors and food combinations. We ordered 5 appetizers to share and loved every single one of them. Again, be open minded because this menu truly is creative. The furniture boutique has stunning pieces of Scandinavian/MCM style furniture all locally made in Roanoke with some serious attention to craftsmanship. These same items can be found upstairs in the boutique hotel. It was fun that you are allowed to have a glass of wine and chill in the lobby area next to the restaurant which is oh-so-comfortably decorated in their gorgeous furniture.I cannot begin to tell you how beautiful my room was. It was decorated so stylishly with absolutely not a touch of elegance overlooked. Stunning lighting fixtures, gorgeous textures, a comfortable sitting area, and lovely pieces of wooden furniture. The hardwood floors are simply to die for. They were my favorite part of the room. The bed was the single most comfortable bed I have ever stayed on in a hotel setting. It was like sleeping on a cloud surrounded in a hug from fairy wings. There is a communal area with snacks, couches and other places to gather or entertain a group. I really really really hope all future guests do their part to keep this place beautiful so that it remains a luxurious place to stay in the heart of downtown Roanoke. What an absolute gem.It feels like a betrayal to the amazing people who put their heart and soul into this hotel and restaurant to have a complaint. However, if I had one tiny suggestion to make, please put a table or a shelf or something in the bathroom. There is literally zero place to spread out toiletries and makeup. I used a towel on the floor to spread out my makeup in the morning. Not really a deal-breaker, but it's just a suggestion. And also to patrons, bring a hair dryer if you are going to use one. I did not find one in the room, but perhaps it was in a drawer or tucked away someplace I did not happen to see. Also, bring a sleep mask. This was definitely more on the light and bright side of hotel rooms, so morning came a bit earlier than I was expecting.

Wow! I have stayed in hotels all over the world on 4 different continents and countless countries and I have to say Fire Station One Botique Hotel impressed me. I love the classic look incorporating many elements of the original fire station with Txtur's modern custom furniture. The entire place is well thought out and the common space is spacious and amazing. I am not great photographer and these are unfiltered photos I just snapped on my old iPhone 11 but the place is so beautiful you don't have to be a good photographer to get a good shot. The place is just a couple of minute walk to all the downtown restaurants and market and yet far enough a way that you don't have unwanted noise.I appreciate the free parking in the parking garage right next store with your room.If you are looking for a great place to stay in Roanoke you need to check this place out.

My husband and I stayed this past weekend at Downtown Roanoke’s newest boutique hotel and we were not disappointed! My number #1 concern when staying at a property is the quality of sleep I will have - this was not a concern after laying down on the extremely comfortable bed with plush pillows. We stayed in room #7 which was also very quiet located at the back of the hotel. The room also had beautiful windows letting in sunlight to reflect off the original floors that had been restored. Don’t worry though, when it is time for bed all windows have automated black out shades. All rooms also have fridges and Nespresso makers! Huge plus. In the middle of the hotel is an event space for guests to relax and enjoy themselves and maybe make a new friend or two. After returning from dinner we met other guests in the center for great conversation and games. We were sad to leave the next day! We will certainly return and recommend to all of our friends!

The hotel is a perfect place to not only stay the night in one of the beautifully decorated rooms but also an effective space to hold a meeting. The food was creative and delicious! I enjoyed walking down through the showroom the next day and ended up ordering a bed and side tables from TXTUR. Wonderful experience and would definitely visit again!

Best sleep I’ve had at a hotel in years! The mattress is on par with, if not better than, ANY Ritz-Carlton and the rooms were sufficiently insulated. We stayed on a Friday night and heard zero street noise from Room #7. Loved the tall ceilings and all of the historic detail honoring the building’s history

This was a really special place to stay. It's a newly refurbished fire house from approximately 1906. It has a very comfortable feel to it.Rooms: All the rooms are cool! Some have skylights that can be bright though.

Cray cool -- and respectful -- renovation of a historic building in the middle of downtown Roanoke . . . with one of the most comfortable beds I've ever had the pleasure of sleeping in. (And the restaurant on the ground floor is world class to boot!)Won't stay anywhere else when visiting Roanoke from here on out.

Station One is a beautiful renovation of the old firehouse in downtown Roanoke. It is a great place to stay while visiting Roanoke or shopping for some furniture at Txtur. The food is incredible with a chef on staff. Txtur showroom has tons of options for great furniture.
