Their agents are pleasant to work with but so far they have done nothing but mess up my taxes. I filed in 2020 with them and had a Mortgage Credit Certificate. I mentioned this to the person preparing my taxes and they stated I could not use it with the standard deduction. The next year 2021 I discovered she was wrong and I was able to file with it, which gave me an extra $1400 from my federal return for 2020. I then had a different person do an amended return to the 2020 return to get this refund. That person however printed my final paper telling me my return before they had filed the state amended return. This told me I did not owe any difference to the state and was going to get my extra money back for federal. Fast forward to this year, 2024, i receive an assessment from the state of Virginia stating I owe them over $400 in taxes/interest from the amended return. I took this to HR block and John told me that they had given me my final paper before they filed the state return. I said i wanted HR block to cover the interest owed since I would have paid the taxes at the time had they given me the appropriate documents. He said all he could do was ask his district manager about it and I have not heard anything back as of yet. I would NOT recommend them at all after this. They claim to cover all interest if there is a mistake. John claimed that they weren't incorrect in their filing but they gave me the wrong paperwork and it should have had the state portion on there as well. That is a mistake that is now costing me money that I otherwise would not owe. If they offer to cover the interest, which is a completely reasonable request given the scenario, I will consider changing my rating.

Been coming here for a couple years with Pat. He's always easy to work with, explains everything to you as he is going step by step, answers all questions you might have professionally, only there for about 20 minutes, and got some of my return within an hour since they have debit cards now. Would recommend calling them.

I filed for the head of household with 2 dependents. everything on the computer I saw said both dependents were on there. when I got home and looked at my tax forms I realized they somehow deleted one of my dependents on the paperwork. I paid more into taxes this year than ever before. and was charged more for this tax session than ever before. if I get a refund or something from H&R Block my opinion may change but not likely. for some reason, a standard deduction cost over 300 dollars for something that would take me 10 minutes to do, at least I would have done it right. Absolutely terrible experience

Because Sue Nelson was really on top of my situation after finding out that Christopher quit H&R block and have him having my taxes since January and shoe getting ahold of me and telling me about the situation and she had my taxes done with in a day highly recommend sue and commend her on the promptness and expertise on the situation.
