Potential and future Carilion Clinic employees beware! Lawrence moving company knows exactly how much Carilion offers for relocation expenses. I was quoted the full amount. The second estimate I got was less than half. They are price gouging here.

Many people I know and I buy trailer parts here. Availability is great, service is great, but the prices have gotten way out of control in the last year.When a common (on every 2 axle, gooseneck trailer 14k and under) $87 part 7 months ago is now $137, it's time to find another supplier. I get that everything has gone up so I expected some, but that seems extreme for some steel and bolts. Maybe it's just me.

So I was leased in back in 2006.. Recently decided to take 4 trucks back to this place. Why not… it’s where I started out being a owner operator.Some old faces and some new ones. But it still feels like a family atmosphere. Now I have read a lot of these comments. And all I have to say is… you get out of this place what you put into it! They do have freight! They will get you home weekends!I’m sure as any comps they have their issues. But I’m sure some of you have issues as well. Nothing is free. Nothing is just given to you. You have to work for it!Driver longe is good. And shower is clean. I’m glad to be back.Scott was a BEAST! Great job bro!Pros. Family atmosphere, Home weekends.Dispatchers that understand your personal needsDecent payWeekly pay Direct depositAll the stuff to get you startedCons. I actually picked up for a company called arkay packaging. They're in the same building as the Lawrence group they got a lot going on around there so watch yourself folks is where I picked up at were real nice had me loaded in less than 40 minutes.

A+ experience with Lawrence Moving. From the first phone call to the movers leaving after delivery every single aspect of working with Lawrence was good. They were friendly, responsive and communicated clearly and often to be sure we were all "on the same page".I did the packing myself, knowing I AM RESPONSIBLE for doing it well to assure no damage. The movers paid attention to boxes marked with special instructions (glass, fragile, do not stack) and I packed to the top as required not to crush with plenty of bubble wrap and nothing was damaged.Unload was smooth. My job was traffic, put it here, put it there and the men complied. Could not have been easier.I would call out specific people that went over and above but that would be everyone I worked with. I highly recommend Lawrence, they helped make my move be a stress-free experience. Thank you Lawrence!ADDED: I just read a long negative review: They do not ask for payment up front. It was crystal clear that I could use a credit card prior or cashiers check at delivery and the quote was firm based on the walk-through and that I didn't try to add to the load AFTER the walk-through and estimate. The virtual walk through is extremely detailed, no surprises and I was able to say no, don't move that or yes be sure to include that. Be honest with contents, don't add after the estimate. There are gas surcharges for most all services today and to be expected.

This company initially addressed all my moving concerns and needs. I was given an initial estimate and was told within 2-3 days they would weigh the load and tell me what a final estimate would be. They called me about a week and a half later asking for payment. I gladly obliged with my information as it was consistent with the estimate. I had also emailed them regarding an update on payment about a week into this process as I was having to structure my move across country around their payment and knew it was based on weight. I was expecting an update 2-3 days after we picked up but did not receive one. I never got a reply and simply got a call requesting the payment for the initial estimate. They then called to say when my things would be delivered, it had already been delivered. When I had stated that things were broken and clearly not packaged on the truck correctly (fragile items with an arrow pointing up on the bottom of the entire truck and not even pointed the correct way) they did give me a clear policy on reporting this which I appreciate. A few days after items were delivered I received a call stating I would owe more due to excess weight. To me this seems very suspicious as this should have been addressed and communicated 2-3 days after loading. Asking for extra money even though the order has already been completed? I’ve gotten almost daily emails with the amount due since I’ve gotten the call. It’s always highlighted. They’ve made it clear they knew about the excess weight beforehand, but did not communicate. I would’ve been happy to pay if there was better communication, but now I feel harassed and belittled. Many local moving companies have gone out of business due to fuel surcharges, not the story for Lawrence. They made sure to charge extra for that as well. All in all, I’d advise to choose a company who has good communication and better family values.
