Mill Mountain Park is a distinguished regional park and a popular attraction for locals and tourists. It is home to the famous Roanoke Star, the largest manmade star in the world, which offers an amazing spot for a gorgeous overview of practically the whole city and the Appalachian Mountains. The park features well-maintained and well-groomed walking and bike trails, providing a great view and a good change of scenery. It is a wonderful place to spend with the family and includes the Discovery Center and Mill Mountain Zoo. The park is easily accessible, located beside the Blue Ridge Parkway, and offers available restrooms. It is definitely worth checking out, with the massive lit star to top it off. The park is occasionally reserved for private events like parties and weddings.

Such a nice place to visit in fall. You can overlook downtown Roanoke from th is park. It has some benches to sit and playgrounds for kids. Visitor center offers tourism brochures.
